Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

No doubt in my mind. It isn't Earth-shattering info...little things noticed on film, how they aligned to certain formations, etc. Seriously nothing to worry about at all.

Pretty much what I would expect too. Defenses may not have done much to slow down the OSU offense, but DCs certainly felt good about some alignments/defenses they threw at them. These conversations probably don't last more than a few minutes either.

I could see them all having a seminar at 2015 B1G Media Days on how to beat Ohio State, presented by guest speakers Bud Foster and Pat Narduzzi.

And they'd still fall short.

Narduzzi is 1-2 since Meyer took over giving up 17, 24, and 49 for an avg of 30 ppg.

That shine is gone as he heads to Pitt with his tail between his legs.

Sims and Cooper both seem like pretty laid back guys. There's an intensity - especially with Cooper - but they don't have the egos I love to hate.

That 1 win is everything to the rest of the conference, though. That was the only time a B1G team has defeated Urban Meyer since he's arrived.
Same with Bud Foster... just need that 1 win to be a God compared to the rest of the coaching staffs in this conference.

For those that wished to compare OSU to the Cowbells, that is the Urban Meyer system from the tebow era, complete with a hulking power QB wearing #15. They have a pair of powerful, not very explosive runners in Prescott and Robinson.

I see a severe lack of playmakers on the outside and nowhere near as much elusiveness or big play ability from the inside or outside wideouts. Wilson is a weapon on jump balls but overall there's a huge dropoff between their unit and OSU's. Maybe Smart is watching some film with Carlos Hyde?

It's a shame that OSU will face Alabama without either heisman finalist QB and their explosiveness but I think OSU presents different challenges than the squads Bama has faced thus far. Auburn is the closest in style and personnel.

I get being fired up about the game, but come on now.

It's Meyer's system, now in Columbus instead of Gainesville.
In the Big Ten no one has had an answer... sure in the SEC some teams had their answers but thus far no one in the big ten has Not one damn team. So my point was why talk to people who don't have the answers? It wasn't to insinuate that there isn't an answer but only to consider asking people who have a better track record because as I say the big ten doesn't have any precedence in not giving up 50 points and 500 yards

I see Mississippi State as resembling the Buckeyes more on defense. They have nowhere near the playmakers on offense as the Buckeyes.

Agree with the Auburn comparison, except Nick Marshall would be fourth string in Columbus.
