. Ok. I'm full of [Mark May]. I guess D Loading is too. Because he said as much about the hoops team. As far as the football squads at then end of Tress days......Urbs Buckeyes would kick their ass. All day. Just like he did in 2006 while at FL. Because he runs a much tighter ship than Tress. Are you going to argue that? Seriously? It's you that's full of [Mark May] bro.
I shouldn't entertain this nonsense but what the hell. I'm bored and still wired from all of the NCAA action.
First of all: What? The only one of Urban led Buckeye squad that MIGHT destroy Tress's later squads (2008-2010) is the 2014 version because of their balance. Urban's 2012 squad would get destroyed by Tress's 2009 and 2010 squads on the account that the 2012 Buckeye offensive plan consisted of Braxton left, Braxton right and the defense was fairly porous all year. The closest analogue to a Tressel coached Buckeye team, the Spartans, took that Buckeye team to the wire. And the Spartans were barely a .500 team that year. I take the 2008 against 2012 as well on the account of them being significantly more talented across the board than the 2012 Spartans.
The 2013 Buckeyes would get beaten by double digits by any of Tressel's latter squad on the account of '13 having the worst Buckeye defense I've ever seen combined with a fairly one dimensional offense. That defense let a Sparty passing offense ranked in the 100s throw for over 300 fucking yards and put up 34 points. As bad as Pryor looked throwing the ball at times, he'd have a field day throwing to the likes of Robo, Hartline, Posey, Sazenbacher, and Ray Small. This doesn't even take into account that those Treseel defenses would probably have been the best the '13 Buckeyes saw all year.
2014 is really the only team that has an argument but, with the way they struggled with the run all year sans the Wisconsin gam, I wouldn't put it past any of the Tressel teams to squeak out a win using ball control.
2015 got physically abused at home by a Sparty team playing TWO back up QBs and an awful secondary. THAT was with JT Barrett in the line up. If Cardale's playing then forget about it. I like any of Tressel's teams by double digits with the way we had trouble moving the ball all year. Heacock probably baits Cardale into throwing a couple of picks. If the team that showed up for VaTech, Michigan, and Notre Dame show up then maybe but all three of Tressel's squads I listed were better than the previous three teams.
Second of all: WHAT? Urban runs a tighter ship? Have you paid attention to the numerous player suspensions and even legal troubles our players have had? Did you forget Zeke (rightfully) publicly throwing the coaches under the bus? I mean, what's your criteria for tight ship here?
