Come on, man. Barrett was 1/3. On those three passes, they went like this: he (1) woefully underthrew his receiver, (2) threw a pick, and (3) threw a screen pass that went for zero yards. Barrett did well when Brax went down last year, but at some point, this ridiculousness needs to stop as to what BP thinks JT could possibly be; let's look at what he's actually done on the field in the Hawaii, NIU, and WMU games. Unfortunately, it's not pretty.

Yes, we should absolutely ignore what he did last year prior to getting injured. Thankfully he got us to where he did. I would bet if he had first team snaps all fall in practice and played the majority of the games from the opening whistle things would look much different then what we saw yesterday. He has proven himself to be more than capable to lead the team and was highly regarded as one of the best players in the game last season.

I guess the JT advocates will stop basing their opinions on what JT did last year, as long as Jones advocates agree to do the same.
Honestly neither have played strong. Turnovers continue to be a big issue.

I have a strange feeling we are going to again need both guys this season. Seeing JT struggle in his time on the field yesterday was not good and worries me to be honest.

He's struggled because he's pressing. He's struggled because he's lacked the reps, and the coaches blessings as the #1 guy. IF JT was the sole returning starter and had the reps and the vote of confidence as the sole starter of our offense I think we'd be seeing a better offense than we have been getting the past few weeks.
Like I've been saying CJ hasn't started many games and while he did put down some great performances against great teams last year he's a really QB with not many reps. Which is why CJ has gone through some growing pains. I have no doubt that if CJ goes down that JT would catch fire just like he did last year. My only concern is if CJ does get hurt or something that it may take JT a few games to get use to the speed of the game again.

Doesn't worry me.
We saw in 2014 what JT is capable of if he gets first-team practice reps to develop a rapport with his receivers. I think his game is very dependent upon his getting enough practice reps with a receiver to refine his instincts of when that receiver is going to make a break, how that receiver is going to get separation, etc. None of this should be read as a criticism of Cardale, but the two have IMO very different sets of strengths.

At this point I don't care who it is I just would like to see a quarterback that provides a spark to this offense. Watching the games recently you see zero spark. It's like they are going through three motions with no energy or happiness.
Where is that big Cardale smile we saw against Wisconsin? Where's that excitement and command after his big plays that help get the crowd and team fired up? It's only been 4 weeks and the QB's look like they've been at it for 4 months.

The WMU game was this year:
Jones: 19/33 for 288 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, QBR of 71.9
Barrett: 1/3 for 0 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, QBR of 1.8
If turnovers are what you're hanging your hat on (there's little else, these days, it seems), I'd think you'd want the guy who threw 1 pick while tossing 33 passes instead of the guy who managed to throw a pick on one of his 3 passes.

If that's the case, how about Cardale's under thrown deep balls with wide open receivers? Using your logic, that kind of play doesnt warrant a larger sample size so it must be true that Cardale always under throws deep balls then.

There have only been four games this year, my man. Both QBs were good against VT, both were putrid against Hawaii and NIU. One was good and one was bad against WMU. There have been no other games this year.
