Different coach, different team, different players, but Tressel was perfectly happy to bench Boeckman (a captain) in favor of Pryor.
Captain doesn't necessarily mean starter. But I'm guessing it's something. We'll see.

It definitely shows who Urban thinks is the better leader. Remember this guy is a red shirt Sophomore and Cardale is a Junior.

Cardale is a redshirt junior, not a true junior. Also, players vote on the captains IIRC...

He mentioned that he was surprised at how many players received votes and mentioned that the players were the ones who voted. Now, he may indeed may make the final selections in the end, but I'd imagine that his selections didn't vary much from the results of the player voting...

I think players vote, I doubt Urban has any input.

No Democracy here! I believe Urban has VETO power..he named the Captains after the year once.

Either way, Urban...team...combination of both...JT was seen as the better leader. That has to play a big part in the final decision of who starts.

BTW - I predict the opening snap on Offense has all three lined up in the backfield just to mess with their minds. CJ will motion out and set up as a WR NEXT to the far sideline. JT will do a read option with BM (keeping the ball) and JT taKING it up field for a big gain. Just sayin.... ;-)

I just want them to pick a starter. They should probably keep it quiet but I'm not a fan of splitting reps. Those reps are important when you have a depleated team and a big opener. I really worry that not making a decision is worse than making the wrong decision. I guess we just trust in urban.
