2014 TSUN Shenanigans and Arguments

@ND, Penn State, @Sparty, @NW, and @OSU makes me think that 7-5 to 8-4 is a likely outcome.

I read a thread on one of their forums (where I found the article) and the people posted there are kinda funny. First, they SHOULD lose to Ohio State, Michigan State, and Notre Dame, and win all of the others. So that's 9 "easy" wins, in their opinion. However, it is unacceptable to not pull one of those games out of their ass, to win 10. In my opinion, the chance that they could lose one they should win is probably at least as likely as that they'll win one they should lose. I see 9-3 about as good as they can ask.

Some Detroit News author wrote the other day that Michigan would go 10-2. I don't see that happening.

If the team has the talent to go 9-3, I think the intangibles of: Brady Hoke being a criminally over-his-head mumbling idiot, the offensive line rebuilding from a historically bad season with a bunch of fat worthless slobs courtesy of Hoke's motivational and team discipline skills, an offense that has nothing beyond a tweener TE/WR and an epically inconsistent QB as weapons behind said offensive line- are much more likely to push them to the lower limits of the bell curve.

I don't see any reason why this team can't match the accomplishments of the past two years with at least 5 losses. Any improvements they have made on defense will almost certainly be counteracted by the tour de force of incompetence that will be their offense.

IF they get by the Irish, entirely possible. I don't see Northwestern going oh for October a second year in a row, but come on, Hoke has more talent sitting on the bench than will start for the wildcats. Hard to say what will happen with Penn State. They may have lost their coach by then.

I actually think Northwestern has plenty of talent returning but for some reason, they always seem to implode. Also, they have been recruiting at a higher level recently, which should also help. Now they just have to shake the oh for October syndrome. Either way, I think you see a 9-4 season...ND at night means a loss imo. Appalachian State gives them fits too (I partly kid for this year), Utah is always decent, Minnesota has a solid core back from a pretty good squad from last year, they lose at Sparty, and I have a feeling it won't be a cake walk with the BIG newbs. And most importantly, a loss in THE Game. I see at least 3-4 losses in there.

See '86's post immediately above yours. He pretty much nailed what was going to be my response.

Pizza Man doesn't strike me as the type who is going to publicly admit he made a mistake quite that easy. I'm looking forward to a few more good years of that stupid oaf. Then of course the same guy who demonstrated the breathtaking acumen to hire Hoke in the first place gets to conduct another hiring......

Look at the bright side scUM fans, ND only went through what 6 or 7 failures before they got a reasonable facsimile of competent in Kelly? What's 20 years or so of sucking balls when you have the warm memories of half a NC in '97 to keep you warm at night?

If the new normal for TSUN is 6 to 8 wins per season, and it is, then their arrogant fan base will just resort to playing the "of course we can't compete with the likes of Ohio State and other Big Ten schools because of our superior academic requirements" card. So what. Let them. Then lay the lumber on them every November with no mercy. Bomb them back to the stone age.

you guys should be praying for 9 wins. Anything less should send Hoke packing

It's funny how Michigan fans are just now realizing, after three full seasons with Hoke at the helm, what Buckeye fans knew (and were laughing about) the day Hoke was hired, namely that he was in over his head and wasn't going to succeed at Michigan. I'm beginning to wonder if there's a fan base that knows less about football than the Michigan fan base.
