2014 TSUN Shenanigans and Arguments

I loved Dantonio when he sent Cie Grant at Dorsey a few years ago. Now that he has moved up north, I can't generate any bad feelings for him.

I look at what MSU has been pretty much all my life - somewhere between bottom tier and mediocre. I know we used to use a phrase to describe the stupid stuff that MSU did and happened to them: "That's Sparty being Sparty." Well, Dantonio had to go in there and deal with all that before he could be successful - and he has.

In order to have some extra motivation to beat scUM, Mike Hart gave it to him, and he sure has gotten plenty of milage out of it.

But if you go on scUM boards and look at what their fans are saying about it, it's just pathetic. On FOOTBALL forums they are talking about how MSU students and grads could not get into scUM. They aren't ever going to learn! It's their institutional arrogance - demonstrated by reactions like that - that has to change. After the RichRod and Hokey eras, you would think these people would learn some humility. But no. They get trounced, but their reflex is to say, "Yeah, but we are smarter." Good grief.

They aren't ever going to change.

Arrogance and treachery are the two most celebrated character traits of the self described "M*ch*gan Man". Two traits the rest of the world (outside of Happy Valley and South Bend) universally detest.

That is why I want to fucking puke anytime I hear people wishing for a strong scUM/for the good of the rivalry/B1G nonsense. These arrogant bastards are not to be liked, not to be pitied and not to be shown anything resembling mercy.

If they were lying on the side of the road with their guts on fire no one should even cross the road to piss on them.

Fuck M*ch*gan

This. I will never forget the 1969 game...never. Fuck them. Every time scUM loses I get a rush of pure schadenfreude that would put a heroin rush to shame...

Any discussion involving pre-game shenanigans and scUM is incomplete without this...

From their most recent decommit...

"I wanted to be a part of a program that knows what it takes to win and the players and coaches develop that culture. I felt like Michigan lost that while watching them play," Taylor said. "As well as the fact that I felt like Michigan wouldn't put me in the best position to get to the next level after college, especially with the problems they've had in developing their players."

I met a player from that team down at The Cliffs of Asheville, NC a few years back. I was wearing a Block O hat and got an O-H. I responded promptly with an I-O. My MIL was with us (she put one of her kids through scUM) and said Go blue. The glare he gave her was deep. He quickly mentioned how pissed he was about that game and brought up what Woody told Bo after the game. I said MIL, he said good luck. Forget the name but he said he was a senior and played either TE or OL. And he looked about 6' 4" about 220 lbs, which seems about right for that time.

Michigan Football Is a Clown Show

Michigan is #9 on the College Football Misery Index:

9. Michigan: What a clown show this has turned into. Look, it seems like Michigan has a lot of nice kids, and Brady Hoke is a nice man and no matter how hard they are trying to win, it's just not working out. That's life. That's football. It happens. But when you're 3-4 and you got embarrassed by your in-state rival last year, you don't walk into an opposing stadium with a spear to plant in the ground. In fact, come to think of it, you don't do that ever, any time, anywhere. It's childish, it's stupid and it's disrespectful. Moreover, if you're Michigan and you need a gimmick like that to fire you up for a game at Michigan State, what's the point of even playing? The first rule of being a bad football team is not to draw attention to how awful you are, but that little stunt ensured that Michigan State was going to do everything in its power to shovel dirt on the Wolverines. Michigan fans already are in pain over this season, but what transpired in East Lansing on Saturday made it 10 times worse.
