2014 TSUN Shenanigans and Arguments

Strange move if true. Can't imagine him letting the NFL itch go for more than 2-3 years.

...unless no NFL team wants him. I mean, come on--the guy had three great years with the Niners, and as soon as he has one bad one, they toss him out on his ass? And no other NFL teams are interested? That should tell you all you need to know--there are tons of NFL coaches who have hung onto their jobs for way longer while having much, much less success...

Sooo... theoretically, NFL teams are "done" with Harbaugh, because he's an asshole. However, Ray Rice can KO his gf/wife and teams are looking to bring him in or Josh Gordon can get suspended umpteen times and teams are looking to bring him in or [at your own player douche operation and NFL overlooking it]

Hmmm...

I don't buy the theory that NFL teams are done with him as a coach.
Wherever he ends up at he will have accomplished getting a huge pay raise.
He understands football is just another business and there is no loyalty factor involved.
And he could get fired at any time from any "dream job".

There is always that crazy possibility he wants to come back coach at UM. Sometimes the simplest answer is the one that works.

But he hasnt said yes to anything as far as im concerned. I won't believe it until he's at a podium accepting the job.

It sounds like the 49ers are spitefully fucking with his ability to go to another NFL team thanks to the extra year they own on his contract.

The Raiders might be crazy enough to pay the kings ransom necessary to get that extra year but if not he ends up in Ann Arbor throwing firebombs and pissing the good ol' boys club off for the next few years before jumping back to the NFL.

I would bet money the sticking point on the final negotions with UM is on the buy out section of the contract.

If NFL teams are done with Harbaugh it's because the 49ers won't relinquish the final year on his contract.

It only takes one year in Ann Arbor to solve that problem, and like I just said, I'd imagine there's some heavy negotiations currently underway about how he gets out of his UM contract.

Leave it to a Michigan Man to assume the UM job is more attractive, to a current NFL coach, than any other NFL job. Especially when the UM job has been a train wreck for a decade running now. Especially when that same coach could've had the UM job back in 2011 had he wanted it.

If the scUM job is THAT attractive and has THAT much drawing power, they wouldnt have to offer him THAT kind of contract. That said, it was the ONLY move they had. They had to land Harbaugh, he was the only guy that would be seen as a homerun, and they're smart to do it. He's the best coach available to them. Kudos to them for improving the coaching situation in the B1G after corn and bucky rolled over and accepted the status quo.

I still take our guy ten times out of ten. Hairball-Urban... Bring it on. :urban2:

If he does in fact head to scUM, he must have pulled off one hell of a George Costanza for the Niners to hate the guy that much and derail his future NFL coaching opportunities. Definitely one for the ages.
I dont know if he derailed anything or if its just the Niners not wanting him elsewhere in the league. But it says a lot about the kind of personality that they take the first opportunity they have to run the most successful coach theyve had since Seifert out of town. He's a world class asshole and egomaniac. He's also a helluva coach. Remains to be seen if he's an ELITE coach, though. He didn't exactly do a bangup job this season, and was outcoached in several big games in the NFL. Great hire for scUM, but i'm not ready to crown his ass yet.

Like maybe that Rex Ryan asshole in NYC? Or the incompetent Bozo at Minnesota? And then there are the Cincinnati and Cleveland jobs where mediocrity seems to be the goal each season.

Michigan can't offer the 49ers players in exchange - which may be what the SF Management wants - a wide receiver or a pass rusher and a draft pick for a coach who won't kiss the owner's ass. So my question becomes what, if the 9ers want compensation, makes Michigan different from an NFL bid - a contract is a contract. To break it someone's going to have to pay, either an NFL team or Michigan or Harbaugh, right?
