Exactly. The idiot Michigan fan base will expect Harbaugh to go all Urban Meyer on the Big Ten and win his first 24 conference games. When he doesn't, the backlash/[censored] contest between Harbaugh and the fan base will be fun to watch.

Self obsessed, entitled, egomaniac diva's barring their claws at each other is always good for entertainment.

The Real Coaches of Ann Arbor......we should be locking down licensing now.

The exact opposite, actually.

The fans, by and large, want them to work it our somehow, because he is a very good coach. But both the Niners management and Harbaugh are done with each other. I suspect this little drama will continue to play out every few years over the course of Harbaugh's career because he's an unbearable prick.

I doubt there are very many NFL/College coaches out there without ego issues. Helps when dealing with the likes of Johnny Football, Cam Newton, Richard Sherman etc., etc. as well as owners like Jerry Jones, Mikey Boy Brown and the sociopath at Indy.

If I'm not mistaken, his real problems with 49ers management only surfaced when the owner didn't sign Boone until just before the season opened which led to problems all along the OL.

That said, Hairball would be an important emotional lift to the Michigan program as evidenced by the over-the-moon offer. Let's also realize that this says that Michigan has the resources to make a commitment of this size. I wouldn't bet on his not being able to flip commits to other programs. Let us also be frank in realizing that climbing back into contention isn't going to be that difficult in the Big Ten when Penn State is crippled, Wisconsin and Nebraska have settled for less than coaching stars and Dantonio is banking on 2s and 3s whom he can coach up and get four years out of. In short, he only needs to catch Ohio State in 2 to 3 years. That's not going to be an easy task, but it's not out of reason. I think the real question might be if he and Michigan can get along for 4 years to make it happen. Michigan has already kissed a ton of ass just to make the offer given Harbaugh's attacks on their academics.

Dantonio could have done great things potentially brought home a national title if he put some effort into recruiting. Damn good coach with a good staff.
