2014 TSUN Shenanigans and Arguments

http://ottumwacourier.collegeexpertsclub.com/news/showSports/id/91611

Addazio and Schiano seem to be most realisti . And neither should worry the Buckeyes

2 guys with Hoke like success at a couple of mid majors.

They can try and spin it however they please with the whole anti-M Man thing but its pretty easy to see that it has always been Jim Harbaugh or bust and it looks like the "bust" part is upon them.

Now they get to settle for a plan B guy after Florida and maybe even Nebraska take their first pick.

The CSU coach is already being described as front runner for UF and if he doesn't get that one a possible choice for scUM in the sense that scUM gets it's turn to eat after the Alpha is done.

They are Notre Dame at about the Bob Davie stage of irrelevance and don't even know it.

Basically, it's down to this-- Harbaugh seems to be the one guy that can stop the bleeding. But, despite what the sunshine-pumping insiders continue to sell to their fans, it is an extreme longshot at best. It's not like he has been portraying himself as a proud scum grad. At least Miles does that. He's given no indication of any desire to return there despite what anybody says. If anything, he's been critical of that program, and might still be bitter about being passed over as QB coach by Lllloyd years back. I'd never say never, but I just do not see it happening. He's a competitive, ego-driven guy. His brother has a SB ring, him leaving without one would have to be looked at as a failure. I don't see that sitting well with him. It looks like he's probably done in SF, but some other team will open the vaults to pay him and probably give him GM duties on top of it. He's staying in the NFL.

Les Miles could be a viable plan-b, name-wise, but the fact is, he's 61 years old, and nobody knows how he'll be able to recruit outside of the SEC free-for-all, and without being located inside one of the top recruiting hotbeds in the country. He'd definitely be an improvement from Hoke, but I don't think he replicates the success he's had at LSU at tsun. The in-game coaching gaffes could be comedy gold, but word is there are still a lot of people in power up there that don't want Miles in ann arbor.

Anybody else will be an enormous let down. Addazio and Schiano are probably both a step up from Hoke, but not significant ones, and I don't think either are the kind of dynamic hire they need to fully drag them from the depths they've sunk to.

Fuck them, I hope it hurts.

I think that it's NOT hairball is obvious. There is simply no way scUM can afford to wait on him and lose an entire year's worth of a recruiting class. They've got to get someone relatively quick.

In other news, technically, Debord is scUM's head football coach. (I know, he's not a candidate, it's just funny)

Unless Michigan commits itself to the energetic pursuit of a really good coach they could maybe actually get who could return them to prominence (e.g., Hugh Freeze, Dan Mullen, Gary Patterson), they're going to continue to suck wind.

I see continued sucking wind on the horizon for the residents of AA.

We may all be missing something here.

Hackett mentioned that the term "Michigan Man" was bad because it excluded women.

The very idea of Melanie Collins asking Michigan coach Erin Andrews why their tackling was so poor in the first half is enough to get me sporting the maize and blue.

His quote:
“Yeah, I want to get rid of the word ‘Michigan Man.’ Maybe today you could write about that. There’s three reasons.

One is we live in a world where no business or anything would talk about just men in it.
Ummm.... OK... But, we're still talking about football, right?

Second, the guy who said that, Bo Schembechler, one of my mentors and heroes, said it when he was being challenged about a coach being recruited somewhere else and he meant he wanted the person who was at Michigan to be the coach.
That's true enough... Wasn't intended to mean what it's being used as now...

The third thing, though, if you let it stand for what it’s supposed to mean here’s what it means: if you cut open the soul of the people who are ‘Michigan Men,’ so to speak, you find first selflessness. This was a thing that said- this is a point about how we stand for the team first. The second thing is the ability to win and be competitive. The competitive spirit in my lifetime and with others that you see around here that played, we knew that we had to work really hard. It wasn’t arrogance. It was about being competitive. The third thing is that we want to continue the legacy of what’s been great from a values standpoint, that this place does not need to cut corners to win and you’ve got a lot of pride in the fact that [if] you come here you know you’re signing up to be the best in the world without any kind of shenanigans going on. So thank you very much. I look forward to updating you.”
OK... so.. getting rid of the Michigan Man idea.. and hey, I realize you're still learning some things about football... you want to look at coaches who are selfish and doesn't stand for the team first; someone who has not the ability to win and be competitive; and someone who will cut corners with no pride - who will permit shenanigans.

So...

scUM's looking to hire.....
