2014 TSUN Shenanigans and Arguments

As someone who would like to see Michigan get back to respectability, I would still love for them to announce that Hoke is coming back. It would be one of the greatest meltdowns in history.

Maybe they announce that Hoke is coming back, wait for the meltdown to waste a couple of days, then announce, "Just kidding - he's fired. We've hired Jim Tressel." They wait for a couple of more days for the celebrations from the national media, then say, "Ha - got you, again. Hoke has been given a lifetime extension."

boom.

@NFBuck and @Muck what's with Debord that I'm missing?
DeBord was a longtime scum assistant and Lllllloyd's primary lieutenant. He's the living embodiment of the "old school scum" mentality. Many speculate that Lllllloyd wanted DeBord to be his successor. The fact that he holds that position (no matter how powerless) indicates, to me anyway, that there is no change up there. He was a wildly mediocre assistant...especially when he held the OC position...but has still managed to attach himself to the program. In short, it's fucking awesome.

Sort of think Michigan ends up with Addazio.

This is just my take, so take it FWIW...

Names the Michigan Rivals site is throwing out:

The usual suspects: Jim Harbaugh, Gary Patterson
The pipedreams: Sean Payton, David Shaw, Bob Stoops
The "Huh? Are we just listing every SEC coach?": Brett Bielema, Butch Jones, Marck Richt, Mark Stoops
The B1G scraps: Pat Fitzgerald, Jerry Kill
The realistic options: Steve Addazio, Jim McElwain

No mention of Dan Mullen or Les Miles, surprisingly. Named just about every other SEC coach. For what it's worth, the rumor is this is not as attractive of a job to those out there as it may be perceived by the Michigan fan base. It's obvious to me after that press conference that it is Jim Harbaugh or bust...but I just don't see him leaving the NFL for a college rebuilding project when he will have multiple offers from other NFL teams. Patterson would be a great hire but he has turned down overtures from other top programs before. Addazio is a guy who would be a great fit for their program, IMO. Florida might beat them to the punch for McElwain after getting the cold shoulder from Hugh Freeze (see what I did there?).

Other names I think they should have added to that list beyond Mullen and Miles: Teryl Austin, Pat Narduzzi, Chuck Martin

Props to Hackett for answering the Michigan Man question like this:

"First thing I'd like to do is get rid of that term, so maybe you can write about that today."

Harbaugh's a pipe dream if you ask me.
