2014 TSUN Shenanigans and Arguments

The funniest and best part of the press conference was the AD saying that tsun has a young team. Some rep or another from that program has been using youth as an excuse for the past 3 years. Do their players not age up there or something? That must be cool.
Ohio State has a lot of young players, too - JT Barrett, Joey Bosa, Ezekiel Elliott, Jalin Marshall, Curtis Samuel, Dontre Wilson, Darron Lee, Vonn Bell, Eli Apple, Raekwon McMillan, Billy Price, Cameron Johnston, Michael Thomas. The difference is that our young guys are performing well and theirs are not.

It's more about talent than experience.

They've signed several highly rated classes. Talent alone does not win football games. The talent is there. They need a coach, not a clapper in chief.

Don't they supposedly have a ton of talent though too? I mean recruiting rankings are kind of a masturbatory and incestuous circle jerk... but they can't be that far off.
I tend to think it's much more about development and culture. They hired a coach that never should've risen above the MAC, and despite the talent - they put out a MAC team.

That were very heavy on the OL. Hoke hoarded them like RR did slot-dots. OL talent is a very good thing to have, but they do not have a QB, and they do not have any playmakers at WR. They were terribly negligent recruiting those two key positions. I know that Wiscy can win with a great OL and stud RBs. But they've spent over a decade perfecting that system, and they still haven't won a BCS game. scUM is in trouble on offense. And the defense may well take a step back with both what they're losing on field and in their DC.

Daughter and I went down on the field after the game and milled around for a half hour or so soaking up the sights and sounds. I told her as the years go by we will tell people that we stormed the field. We left by the band ramp, which was a crowded bottleneck. For some reason, the TSUN leaders decided to make their marching orchestra sit out there in the cold in their piss-yellow/depression-blue pajamas for a long time and withstand multiple verses of "we don't give a damn" and various taunts frrm sober and drunk fans alike. The looks on their faces made the whole weekend worth it. A mixture of humiliation and hopelessness that almost made me feel sorry for them. Almost.

Poor quality picture, but you get the idea.:urban1:

Maybe the person in charge of bringing their band inside was the same one who was responsible for getting concussed QBs off the playing field.
