Derrick Green is just a terrible runningback...

Look at the gigantic hole open up right to his left. Any running back with even adequate vision hits that hole and gets at least 7-8 yards...possibly a huge gain. Not our Derrick. He just cuts right and runs into a mass of humanity. :slappy:

Apparently, this was not an isolated incident Saturday night.

De'Veon Smith is surely better. Right?

Nope.

Well, Hoke said he wouldn't change anything about how Michigan prepared for ND, so I guess that includes coaching his running backs to properly run the ball. And yet, somehow, this guy still finds support from Michigan fans. Dumbest fan base in America, indeed.

I don't know that it's even a coaching/development issue with Harmon, err, Gardner. He shows flashes of brilliance at times, the physical tools are there, and he knows how to use them. He played pretty well the last handful of games last season despite getting knocked on his ass 95% of plays. He just seems to regress at the most inopportune moments. That leads me to believe he's a mental midget who can't stay on a straight path.

Now, both of your supposed blue-chip running backs eschewing running through giant holes and opting to head into a mass of humanity instead...that points to coaching. Or, I guess they could be plum dumb.

I think he means development as it pertains to sugar shane.

Not just anyone can take a supposed 5 star QB and turn him into an All American clipboard holder who can't beat out the black Bellisari. It takes a special talent.
