2014 Preseason and Regular Season Polls

Right. Because subjectivity and computers are the only two ways to decide who gets in. Try to think a little harder--I know you can do it.

Obviously I was contradicting your extreme statement with mine. Yes, the answer is somewhere in the middle.

I just don't see a way to have a human poll void of subjectivity. It's just not going to happen.

It's also that subjectivity that's going to make the judgment calls where the computers can't and won't.

But...but....but, we're Theee Ohio State. All we have to do is win out, and we're in. I seem to have kept hearing that over and over and hokeing over.

I'll say this one last time. We're getting fed a [Mark May] sandwich not because the quality of our loss but because of the quality of our wins (i.e. our conference). It sucks fucking balls, but don't blame the god damned system. Blame Delany for being Mike Slive's fucking gimp and not having the balls to fight for a conference champions rule. Blame the fucking Big Ten ADs for worrying more about taking care of the bowls who'll be taking them on private cruises to St. Bart's this Winter than their own god damned schools.

Congrats on the BTN, Delany. That'll be your legacy, but I have one simple question. Did Mike Slive force you to make him a sandwich on the way out after treating you like a plastic fuck doll or did you at least get the common decency of having some cabfare on teh counter?

This whole thing stinks to high heaven.
how many times do you have to be told that losing to Virginia Tech is not taking care of business?

Nor is giving up 62 points to Baylor. We have taken care of business every bit as much as every other one loss team out there, and we are still left coming out of the bathroom with nothing in our hands but our dick.

It's come down to this. Ohio State must go undefeated to get into the Final Four while teams from other P5 conferences can get in with one loss, and that's the result of the shit reputation of the Big Ten.

If we didn't beat Michigan State, they'd be in our spot right now. They didn't go undefeated....they just didn't lose to shitty Virginia Tech.

We didn't take care of business every bit as much as the 4 teams ahead of us at all. We lost to a shitty team. None of them did.

It's a result of a lot of things, but the B1G's reputation is definitely only one of them.

It's hard to argue that the SEC and Pac-12 don't have better teams top to bottom than the B1G but I think it's pretty obvious that if FSU had fallen along the way, no matter who to, they'd be on the outside looking in right now as well. The deck is stacked against, but that's not by some conspiracy or bias, it's just the facts.

I agree fully. It isn't bias; it's the fact that we can't run through a crap conference and expect it to be taken the same as running through the other conferences (possibly excepting ACC). I just can't comprehend how people can still say that they don't care about how strong or weak the BIG is and Ohio State is Ohio State and all things being equal we're in. Well, we're equal to a few other one loss teams and we're not fucking in.

As for TCU, they gave up 62 points in their loss. They barely scraped by their best conference win (KSU) while we dominated ours. Riddle me this Batmen? Why are they in, and we're out? We're Ohio State, and they're a glorified mid-major. Oh yeah, they play in a good conference, and we play in a crap one!

But hey, Michigan is in the crapper, so all is good with the universe. Gather round the circle jerk as we all exorcise the demons of 199x!

TCU lost to a shitty team. Didn't Central Florida hang 52 on Baylor in the Fiesta last year? Baylor is hot garbage. They were exposed last year, and they'll get exposed again. TCU, despite the meltdown, is better than Baylor, and I don't think it's close.

I'm with you regarding Delaney and ADs screwing over the conference for personal interests / lobbyist-esque bs... but I can't buy the BXII is a good conference.
Watching Texas is as hilarious as watching scUM. ISU, Kansas, and TTech are as bad as the bottom of this conference. Nor do I think WVU or OK St. are better than the likes of Maryland and Rutgers.
I just don't see it.
The PAC and SEC have more depth imo, and the ACC is by far the worst ... but I don't see any difference between BXII and B1G.
I guess the only real difference is that Gary Andersen can't field a team that finishes games... both their losses were basically flukes that they should've won. And had they, Wisconsin would be #3 right now. But what else is new with Bucky? They choke OOC games like nobody's business. A lot of the conference' current bad rep is thanks to their non-performance in 3 consecutive Rose Bowls including then-mid-major TCU.

you're high if you think you can call our loss at home to Virginia Tech and TCU's loss on the road against Baylor anywhere close to equal. that's straight up absurd.
