2014 NFL (Well, Browns, so, sorta "NFL") Draft Thread

1- maybe they are, but so far they don't appear very misleading
2- Yeah because having no WR really has worked wonders for us in years past lol. We never have a WR worth a crap and ironically we sucked still. The NFL is a passing league now thru and thru.
3- Seattle won bc they had an out of this world one of the best D's in a long long time. Seattle also has a stud RB, something we MAY or MAY NOT have now as we wait and see. That doesn't mean that their passing was terrible, they didn't utilize it that much because they didn't need to do so. We don't have a Marshawn Lynch...

Here is a fact for you, Seattle and San Fran are not in the AFC North... they don't have the same kinda teams, they aren't even in the AFC. Comparing what they had to do to be successful with us is silly. Denver made it to the SB with one of the best passing attacks ever, and how ironic that all of a sudden their RB's played a ton better last year since they actually had a passing game to open it up.

Overall you seem like someone who knows less than they think. Look at all the Superbowl winners since 2000, a large majority of those teams had a good passing game. New England 3 times, Colts with Manning, NO Saints, GB, NYG had good passing with Eli, even Big Ben got his last one done largely with a good passing game. All a lot better than ours will be without Gordon if he misses. Nobody is saying we should expect to have as great as passing game as these guys, but the days of RB winning SB's is over.

Trying to make your point is one thing, but your arrogant "I'm superior to you listen here" attitude is pathetic my man. I know plenty about football. Nobody is asking for us to be the best passing team in the league, but last time I checked our RB now Ben Tate has never been a #1 guy, has a tendency to get dinged up, so it's perfectly reasonable to want a nice passing game so we don't have to depend soley on him.... your highness!
This post is a primary example of why people are taking issue with your approach. Ljb lays out how passing is not required to win in this league and they get dismissed because they aren't in your division.

The top passing attacks by ypg were Philly, Minny, Dallas, San Diego, Oakland, Denver, KC, Jax, Green Bay and Detroit. Woof.

I think Cleveland should have taken a wideout but they have way too many flaws to panic because of an uncertain punishment for Mr, Gordon. You can have freaking megatron with a pretty good qb and still be the northern version of Browns football.

Drafting Watkins would be sexy, and likely land them right back at the top of the draft next year.

Haha whatever man. I have to pick and choose what I address bc you guys nitpick every little thing I say so I have to defend myself 60 billion times. It's hard being me. I see what it must be like to be Johnny Football. It's going to be funny going back in this thread in a year or two after all these JF haters are all over his junk...Probably the same guys that loved the Weeden pick lol.
Wow, you're a big deal and a martyr all at once. That must be very tiring. :roll1:

Gordon was no doubt a huge loss. The Browns are going to have to scramble to find at least one more decent WR before Sept 7, 2014. It's May, not September. Here a a few stats I found interesting:

The Browns were 4-12

The Browns were 27th in points scored.

The Browns were 28th in rushing, and only 4 rushing TDs for the entire season.

The Browns had more receiving yards than the opposition, 4047-3538 and only 3 fewer passing TDs.

Gave up more sacks 40-49, and more INTs 14-20

I can't blame them for fixing the running back situation, the offensive line, and the passing defense that always failed late in the game.

Passing is required to win in this league. I never said the Brown's had to sling it 50 times a game. I simply said we need to have a good passing attack. Then it gets twisted like I suggested we needed to have Peyton Manning, primetime Jerry Rice and Michael Irving. I was ok with not taking Watkins until I realize Gordon is likely out for the year and we knew it before that. We have to consider that his time with CLE here is short, if he isn't smart enough to not get busted for like his what 3rd time or something in life, what makes you think he won't do it again and get banned ever longer than a year? We have to consider the fact he may not be here in a few years and that's where a guy like Watkins would have been great. Instead bc I'm disliked on here it gets turned into me somehow saying we need to have the best passing attack ever.

It's not panicking taking Sammy Watkins... or even in the 2nd a guy like Marqis Lee. That isn't panicking...

Haha please, I just do exactly what you guys do and share my opinion. Not my fault that I am not in your inner-circle and don't agree with you all. This all started in this thread because I wanted Manziel and was excited we got him. I feel bad that you can't see how hypocritical you sound. Quit whining to the mods already, I am doing nothing wrong other than disagreeing with you all. I'm a poor college kid, I can't afford anything!

Funny - no one here has bashed one of the greatest OSU basketball coaches ever. Who is whining to the mods? I was congratulating them for not banning your sorry ass like I would have for a plethora of reasons. :ban:

I really hope you aren't an English major.

I don't think he is that great... sorry. Hardly deserved to be banned for that but I'm not going to get sucked into a Matta debate again, no less in a Browns thread. Haha you have said about 5 times now how amazed you are they haven't banned me... definitely starting to seem like you are trying to persuade them. You keep using a banned emoticon even.

When I think of who you probably are as a person I get an image of some old dude sitting on his rocking chair starting at 5am and yelling about all those "darn youngsters skate boarding on the side walks" and driving around in their "Fancy new fangled drivin machines"
