They don't really fit anywhere in FBS - too far west for the MAC, no one really near them in CUSA, obviously not Sun Belt and I doubt the Big XII or Mtn West would look at them seriously either.

REPORT: OHIO STATE MADE PLAYOFF OVER BAYLOR IN AN 8–4 VOTE

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Jimmy Burch, Baylor coach Art Briles says a "source" (the scare quotes are Burch's) told him the College Football Playoff Committee took a vote on whether Ohio State or Baylor would be No. 4. According to the source, Ohio State won by an 8-4 vote. Had two of the committee's 12 members flipped the other way, the vote would have be deadlocked.

So what's the point, it wasn't that close?; a 75% vote in congress even overrides a "Presidential veto".

And had two Baylor voters flipped to Ohio State, it would've been a 10-2 margin. Who gives a shit?

Uh, 8-4 is a 67% margin, not 75%...

ESPN has more:

If Briles' source is in fact correct, it would defy the playoff committee's selection protocol.

The 12 committee members each vote separately at individual computers, and via secret ballot. In other words, the only way the committee members themselves would know how anyone else voted would be to ask, or to look at another committee member's computer as he or she voted.


in summary Briles is a whiny bitch and is "source" is full of shit

I thought they voted their top 4 (or 10 or 25, whatever) and tallied up the results like the traditional polls. So there wouldn't be a direct vote between baylor and osu.

Also, you'd think someone would point out to briles that patterson had/has at least as much of a complaint and has wisely let it go. For which most ppl respect patterson while almost everyone's reaction to the great whiner is to wish he'd go away or at least just shut up. I'd love for baylor to end up #5 again next season and for the committee to come out and say it was cause briles was such a bitch.
