2014 College Football Playoff Open Thread

So I'll be surprised if we aren't in and playing Oregon in the Rose but I have been wrong before and you know what? I won't really be that mad if we aren't.

2014 just ended with another win over scUM and the most epic beat down in the history of major college football championship games over a team/fanbase I absolutely loathe.

The whole damn team is coming back for another championship run in 2015.

Buckeye football life is good.

Absolutely. I wouldn't be shocked if the elite little committee decided to put in TCU AND Baylor because, ya' know, they just couldn't decide between them. I don't have my heart set on any particular outcome, because I despised the tiny secret committee concept from the start, and rather expected them to generate more controversy than justice. We'll see. But, this morning, all I care about is last night. Borderline perfection. That game was a dream come true. Went to sleep with my recording of it playing, and woke up to it.

So proud of the team and the coaches. No matter what.

Champions.

I have a feeling TCU and Baylor get jumped.

I have a feeling after this, the Big 12 will add two teams in order to have a conference championship. Ensue chaos that is inevitable again IMO.

I've heard rumblings in some quarters that a certain Pennsylvania team might be interested.

And good freaking riddance it would be.

Had TCU won the Big XII outright, I think this is a tougher decision than it's going to be. Even with one less game on the schedule, the committee set TCU up for the playoff, so long as K State could take care of business. They didn't, and the Buckeyes shined possibly the brightest of any of the conference champions. No way you keep them out now. This team is on fire, and playing with a purpose.

On that note, since Baylor's hilljack coach wants to bring up "America" every time he states his case, ask him if he cares about America's economy. If he does, we're in and you're out.
All Tejas fans are laughing at Briles now after he ignored head to head in 08 and voted OU #1.

I agree but at the end of the day I think the destruction of wisconsin gave the committee the excuse they have been looking for to put OSU(think in terms of conferences...the B1G) in the playoff.

I'm calling it a two game difference against both TCU and Baylor - games against Samford and Northwestern St don't serve any purpose....they're both 10-1 to me.

I believe the Bucks are in. As has been stated in other threads, tOSU SOS is stronger than either Baylor or TCU. The Bucks have better wins (Sparty will finish top 10, Wisky 18 or so and Minny top 25, with all of those road or neutral site games). And so far as VT, they are a 6-6 team that will go to a bowl. Those things, coupled with last nights beat down will get us in.

The other thing being talked about is the Big XII adding 2 more teams. But whoever they add will just lower the quality of the conference, and that is a good thing.

It's telling that Herbie is the face of college football on ESPiN this morning and he is stumping hard for the Buckeyes.

But...but...Herbie hates the Buckeyes. Thousands of schmos who never played a down in an Ohio State uniform love tOSU more than Herbie. Just ask them! :roll1:
