2014 College Football Playoff Open Thread

But...but...Herbie hates the Buckeyes. Thousands of schmos who never played a down in an Ohio State uniform love tOSU more than Herbie. Just ask them! :roll1:

Herbie will say whatever his bosses tell him to say.

He isn't bucking the system out of love for OSU.

This is the same tool that dropped OSU with his AP vote after they beat an SEC team in the Sugar Bowl.

I honestly don't think the chatter among the committee has been whether or not we're in, but whether we're #3 or #4. There just isn't a reason to have TCU/Baylor in there when they're still arguing with each other about who the champ is and which one should make the cut. That alone is enough to merit delivering bad news to them for not having a conference championship and being unable to pick an outright champion.

The Committee is gonna do whatever they do. Not letting myself be invested in their mean-girls clique popularity contest.

That said: Imagine the screaming if they drop FSU and put us in 4th.

Saw the Baylor coach on some show this AM. He had the gall to play off their close game last night as a demonstration of his devotion to sportsmanship. Basically claimed he had too much class to run up the score in the waning minutes when he could just take a knee. (Uh huh. Sure. Never mind that with a less-than-two-possession lead, not taking a knee ran the risk of coughing up the ball leading to a score, then having their opponent accomplish an on-side kick and win the freaking game.)

Bottom line: Baylor is just too good* to be in this club.

*No. Not "good" in the sense of relative competence at the game of football. Too good in the sense of being morally superior to all the rest of the teams.

I don't give shit who he voted for in a poll. "Fans" who pat themselves on the back as being more Buckeye than a former tOSU QB will always crack me up.

Just for the sake of being contrary and unnecessarily argumentative (and because they're tap dancing instead of announcing the results):

I didn't fight in the Revolutionary War, either. But, I can still have an opinion about Benedict Arnold.
