2014-2015 B1G Men's Basketball

That is an excellent post and I do not agree with hardly anything except maybe for the Coach of the Year. I think everyone expected Maryland to be one of the top three teams in the conference this year so I would almost go with Painter because not many people were expecting Purdue to do very much this year but I doubt if either Painter or Turgeon win this award because it seems like a lot of commentators are in love with the job Tommy has done at Indiana which I do not understand at all.

I also might have Sam Decker on the All-Defense team but I am not sure who I would take off may be one of the Buckeyes.
Actually, Maryland was picked to finish 10th.

Painter's team losing to North Florida and Gardner-Webb is actually a good thing for his B1G COY candidacy, as it shows his team struggled and then overcame their struggles #COYvoterlogic

But I agree I would give the award to Turgeon as his team is almost a lock to finish second and they have performed much better than expected although there may be some element of fool's gold there with regard to how good they actually are. They remind me a little of Nebraska last year in the sense that they took a couple teams by surprise on the road but also got hammered a few times when teams were ready for them, but they were always tough to beat at home in league play.

Crean's job may be in jeopardy if they lose their next game against MSU. Personally I believe IU fans are delusional and they should keep Crean as IU is not a job where it is easy to dominate the B1G year in and year out anymore. They should be content with the success he has had of late and he obviously does a decent job in recruiting. He may be weird but they could do a lot worse. But hey since they can do worse maybe they should fire him and see just how much they enjoy rebuilding under a new coach again.

I think his job should be in jeopardy or even more than jeopardy he should be fired if they did not make the NCAA this year. I do not think that IU fans are delusional because with the facilities that Indiana has and will have should make this an easy sell for recruits. It is not like he is going up against a top 10 football program or anything like that. His offensive schemes stinks especially when they get into a half-court set if you can call it that. Just think where Indiana would be if they had someone like Matta are any of the top coaches in the Big Ten.

Here is how we can still get #3 seed for Big 10 tournament

Ohio State wins vs Purdue, wins @Penn St, wins vs Wisconsin (12-6)
Purdue losses @ Ohio St, loses 1 of @ Michigan St or vs Illinois (12-6)
Michigan State losses @Wisconsin, loses @ Ind (11-7)
Iowa loses @ Ind or vs NW (11-7)

Ohio State wins tie breaker over Purdue (1-1 H2H and OSU 1-0 vs Wisky, Purdue 0-1 vs Wisky)

Wisky #1
Maryland #2
Ohio State #3
Purdue #4

Well everything went to plan except Indiana losing to Iowa. The problem is if Iowa wins vs NW as expected they beat us in every single tie breaker so if any other teams tie with us and Iowa I believe we lose them all so we end up 5th.

Not enamored with the double-bye, who cares.

Would rather get an extra game*, against even a lower-tier team and get the shot to pad the resume. Heck, maybe even consider it a warmup game and the Bucks go on a roll.

*Gulp, can't believe I may be wishing for more games watching this sometimes very frustrating team. With 'em no matter what, I guess. Never know and the wins are worth the chance to play. Go Bucks.

We'll also know going in. The other three teams tied 3-6 all play Saturday whereas OSU plays Sunday.

Iowa isn't losing at home to Northwestern so we're looking at 4th, at best. I'm more interested in beating Wisconsin than our BTT seed.
