2013 TSUN shenanigans and arguments

Yes and one is far worse than the other. TSUN fans can shake their keys and talk about pre-war championships and be smarmy, but they do not even register on the out of touch scale that PSU operates.

Agreed. I hate TSUN as much as anyone does, but trying in vain to prop up the reputation of JoePed is light years worse than thinking that Gardner is as good as a runner as Brax.

That is big. Even Stadium and Main is using terms like "devastating" and "irreplaceable".

The experience factor among their front is now not much better than our own.

Indeed, as much as it pains me to admit it (Ryan being an Ohio kid and all), he was a force last year as a sophomore. This a huge blow to TSUN.

Running back turning Jadeveon Clowney hit into profit

11:56 AM ET 03.23 | Michigan Wolverines running back Vincent Smith is best known as the undersized player that was annihilated by South Carolina Gamecocks star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney in the 2013 Outback Bowl and he is taking advantage of his unfortunate fame. Smith is turning his national humiliation into a form of profit now that he is finished with his college eligibility. Smith is selling photos of the hit that he autographed for $60 a piece. That is one way to turn being on the wrong end of one of the most devastating hits in college football into a positive. Unfortunately for Clowney, the guy he destroyed is able to make money off of the photo, but Clowney cannot since he is still an active student athlete. You gotta love the NCAA.

Gotta boost that bank account before you find that General Studies degree worthless...

Burn an obvious medical redshirt for one game? Sounds like something Hoke may just be dumb enough to do.

It's my understanding that he's not eligible for a redshirt because he already used it up by not playing in 2010. I don't really understand how it all works, but that's what I was told.

Should be able to apply for a 6th year at the end of his eligibility at least. As long as he doesn't play at the end of the 2013 season. Healthy redshirt and medical redshirt are different things. Oklahoma QB Jason White was granted a 6th year IIRC, for example.

this is what I was informed:

Ryan was not injured in 2010, which is why he's not a candidate to apply for a 6th season of eligibility. If he were injured in 2010, and that was the reason why he redshirted, then he would be eligible to apply for a 6th year.

and

Ryan didn't play in 2010. The redshirt was automatic. Every scholarship athlete is given/allowed five years to "use up" their four years of on the field/ice/court playing eligibility. A sixth season is ONLY granted to athletes who have had two full years of eligibility wiped out by injury.
