Absolutely. OSU really only had 2 dynamic athletes they could lean on, and one of them was a QB that spent large portions of games (usually the 1st half) not scrambling, passing or running the option very well. The other was a speedy flanker masquerading as a slot back, leaving no WRs outside that were both explosive and reliable.
But with their physical road grading line, their consistent but not dynamic back and elusive QB were able to impose their will on defenses on the ground.
Fitz Toussaint didn't suddenly forget how to run the football. The blocking upfront took a big step back and now there are a few walkons and very young OL in the mix to replace the departed trio of so so OL. If the unit gels and matures quickly, Fitz will suddenly return to his old form and Green will be a productive bruiser. If they struggle or develop slowly, there will be a lot more fat jokes from rival fans.
