That's the stupidest post I've ever read. Except for it's 100% right. Make those southern panty-wastes come north. How can the NFL play in Lambeau every year in January, but we can't send SEC homies north? Sissies.
Only flaw in your logic is it requires VOTERS to put a northern team above a southern team. Not gunna happen... at least as long as ESPN continues to be the SEC Network. So, all the home-field rule would do is give southern teams home field advantage.
C'mon, football season is short enough as it is! Theres a lot of speculation the playoff could be increased to 8 games anyway. I probably should have just quoted the previous post discussing the 8 game format.
So, hypothetically, if Northern Illinois lost to a team like Akron, and Wisconsin lost to say...Michigan State and ASU, you would put Northern Illinois ahead of MSU for a final playoff spot?
The real problem is the economics;fewer tourists will come North to watch a game and then stick around to pump dollars into the economy. That's the stupidest post I've ever read. Fewer for who? thats still more tourists than those northern cities would have gotten otherwise, i am sure theyd gladly take it. why do we feel so inclined to prop up the economies of tropical locals? The real problem is the economics;fewer tourists will come North to watch a game and then stick around to pump dollars into the economy.
Word is that Famous Jameis might be in some hot water.
Florida State QB Jameis Winston -- frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy -- is being investigated for felony sexual assault, TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement and other sources tell TMZ ... a woman filed a sexual assault complaint with the Tallahassee PD on December 7, 2012. She claims the alleged sexual assault was committed with the use of "physical force."
According to the police report, the motive for the alleged crime was "sexual gratification." The alleged victim says drinking was involved before the incident.
The police report says on the day in question, someone called the cops at 4:01 AM. When police arrived, we're told there were photos taken of the alleged victim's injuries as well as physical evidence collected.
According to the police report, the incident occurred in an apartment.
Winston is described in the police report as "muscular" and his demeanor as "polite."
Our sources say cops have already interviewed Winston.
The investigation is "ongoing" with the police and the Florida State Attorney.
I doubt anything happens until at least after the season. But maybe he loses his cool with the negative attention...Word is that Famous Jameis might be in some hot water.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu .... Manziel is the last person on earth that should sit alongside Archie with 2 heismans.
He's a complete dirtbag...
You think the game won't sell out because it's in a cold climate? I think you'd be surprised how many people will come north to a game. I have news, football fans are nuts and will follow a game anywhere. It just has to be in a city where people want to go (so you can't force college cities, some are small and horrible). It would really need to be in an NFL stadium. I guarantee just as many people will come to Chicago as Miami. Southern people do like to visit places and see snow, we just don't want to live in it, but we love it for a week.
I wouldn't guarantee that. SEC and Big Ten teams travel well as does Texas and Ntre Ame. Outside of that, you're playing with fire making assumptions of that magnitude.
If they will travel across the country to Louisana, then they'll travel across the country to Chicago. I understand that many fan bases don't travel well, but those that will take the time and expense to travel will go just about anywhere, regardless of weather, as long as it's a city that has things to do and sights to see. For another bowl game, even a BCS bowl you can't make that assumption. But when it is for a national title, it changes everything. You might need sunshine to bring Oregon to a regular Cotton Bowl. If a national title is on the line, you don't need that.
