2013 Preseason and regular polls

We have a much bigger claim than FSU does. Dropping as far as we have for winning every game for two years straight after starting at #2 in the polls is a joke. I'm glad Oregon got smacked in the mouth and will be just as happy when FSU follows suit. Please read below and tell me why we aren't #2 in the country right now after starting there, keeping in mind that Florida State began the year ranked ELEVENTH IN THE COUNTRY:

Looking at this, please explain the type of insanity that needs to take place for a team to start the year ranked at #11 (and #23, respectfully, if we want to take it there) to jump a team that started at #2 and hasn't lost a game for the last two years. Do they have to be in a dog fight with Boston College? Is that what gave them the huge bump and current edge? Was it our early struggles? Because I gotta tell ya, Buffalo is in a much better position than Pitt. Maybe the B1G is just down so much this year, that wins over Nevada (6 losses) and Bethune Cookman (...) look good enough for SOS to SKYROCKET them that far and land in front of us.

Yeah, hype has nothing to do with it. Mmmm... I disagree. I'd also put money on Wisconsin over Miami/Clemson, because that would be easy extra cash in my pocket.

That's why Delaney needs to send a fucking memo to ESPN reminding them our tv contract is up for renewal soon and to quit dicking around. Maybe something in a p.s. about the fact that the bowls whole reason for existing was to get B1G fans and their money to fill up their stadiums once a fucking year. P.p.s., tOSU v a PSU team that was at its lowest in living memory being the highest rated CFB game of the year, even tho it was a plungering of epic proportion.

Link?

Agreed, I don't see them losing. Just have a feeling it will be closer than expected. But the only way that happens is if they don't turn the ball over, which is probably very wishful thinking.

Muschamp has 1 way of keeping his job. Beating FSU, that's it, keep your arch rival out of the title game. Much like how Hoke's only real remaining goal this year is beating us. Not saying either will come to fruition, and both could be blowouts, but I expect both games to be closer than expected.

This is a good point. FSU really has only had one good win. Clemson. We only have 1 good win, Wisconsin. I would take Wisky over Clemson any day of the week. Actually i would love to see that. Wisky has a solid defense and their lines would dominate Clemson. Miami was overrated, really overrated, they are basically Boston College/ Wake Forest. MSU would hold both Clemson and Miami to single digits. I think it's that FSU blew out their cream puff conference and we had to fight against Wisconsin/ Northwester/ Iowa... even though we scored everytime we had the ball against Iowa except once. I would enjoy seeing FSU/OSU play in a NC because I think it would be similar to 2002. OSU played though fought Big Ten games, Miami blew out the creampuff Big East. Miami came in a double digit favorite and we edged them out in the end. FSU looks great, but I want to see them play a team that has any kind of defense.

FSU still has to play a conference championship game. BC was able to run the ball well against them. Of the four potential candidates to play them, Georgia Tech and Duke, yes Duke are good to decent rushing teams. Miami already lost to them, and VA Tech's running game is awful.

ESPNU's College Football Daily just declared "there is no room for debate about who should be the top two in the BCS, the debate begins at number three." :roll1:

For the sake of SOS argument, I just pulled up all of the conference power rankings and matched them up 1-12 against the Big Ten, similar to the Big Ten ACC bball tourney. Because I was thinking I wouldn't really be bothered by Baylor passing us if they win out. I am trying to think of this as objectively as possible. I would suggest giving it a try. Makes me rethink Baylor passing us and FSU at #2.

ACC: I would predict they go 3-9 against us, 4-8 if they were lucky. That is conceding FSU would win against OSU (for the sake of argument and shutting up the talking heads). That is leaving out the bottom two ACC teams.
Big 12: I would predict they go 3-6 against us. That is assuming OSU beating Baylor.
Pac 12: I would predict they go 10-2 against us, 9-3 if we are lucky. That is assuming OSU over stanford and wisky over oregon. After that I think the pac-12 wins the remaining 10. Perhaps MSU could beat Arizona St.
SEC: I would predict they go 11-1 against us this year. That is assuming OSU would lose to Bama.

And absolutely because they said so...Lord knows they are the leading authority on everything CFB and we just shouldn't even play the games. Just let them tell us who will win. Think of it no more injuries......

What I "read below" disproved your point. Pre-season rankings mean shit...most everyone on this board agrees with that. FSU started out at #11 because no one on the planet knew just how insanely fucking good Jameis Winston was going to be. Compare their most impressive win with ours...51-14 over highly-ranked Clemson, at Clemson no less, is more impressive than our 63-14 win at home against the unranked Pedsters. And side from the dogfight up at BC, they've flat out killed everyone on their schedule while we had three dogfights in a row (Wiscy, Northwestern, and Iowa). I would agree with the ESPNSpew statement that "there is no room for debate about who should be the top two in the BCS, the debate begins at number three." I'd say the gap between us and Bammer and Free Shoes in not as everyone claims, but they clearly are the two best teams so far.

TBH, I think it's a case, FSU has been winning with "style points" since the start of the season. The Buckeyes, have only won big the last two games. Miami, (who sucks) and Boston College, (who sucks) stayed with them for a half. Right now, I honestly think the Bucks would beat them. Close first half, Hyde and Brax, exhaust their defense in the second half.

It would depend on whether or not we could pressure Winston and if our secondary played well. If Winston has time and our secondary played like it did at Cal, it would get real ugly real quick. Conversely, I don't think Winston has faced a solid pass rush all year...we hurry his ass and get him to throw a pick or two, he's toast and we roll.

How does FSUs O-Line look? (Those who have seen them a couple of times)

Clemson is shit stew on defense. They have been in each one of their overrated campaigns just to make it to the BCS, let alone a National Championship.

And that Wisconsin game was not a dog fight.
