That prompts another question: Could a one-loss team finish ahead of an unbeaten Ohio State in the final BCS standings?
No,” Palm said, “not realistically. You never know what voters are going to do, but 15 years into the BCS, a major (-conference) undefeated (team) has never been behind a one-loss team, and that wouldn’t happen to Ohio State, either.”
Stanford falls, SEC record 8 in AP poll
The Southeastern Conference set a record for most schools in The Associated Press college football poll with eight ranked teams
At least we regained sole possession of third place in the coaches poll.

I guess we are ready for an 8 team playoff after all.
Not sure what you're talking about--OSU was #3 and Clemson was #4 last week, just like they both are this week (see the final column of the link below).

What a joke this is... LSU loses to a crappy Georgia team yet still ranked in the top 10, see same to USCe, Aggy gets lit up by Ole Miss but yet they are still the 7th best team in the country... ugh people are stupid
Well, who the hell else are you going to put up there? Louisville? Northwestern? Michigan? TCU? Utah? A two loss Washington?
Be glad Notre Dame remains off the list for a few days as they'll quickly vault back up to the middle if they beat USC.
Say what you will, the LSU - Georgia game was about as good a college game as you are going to see in any given year. Alabama and Texas A&M put on a good show, as did LSU and Florida.
At the same time the Buckeyes, had to score 50 points to beat Cal, were carried down to the final possession to take care of Northwestern and caught a number of breaks to beat Wisconsin while making a Heisman candidate out of Abrecadabra.
With the exception of Ohio State, the Big Ten, with losses to Northern Illinois (twice!!!) and Central Florida, remains suspect. Unless Wisconsin continues to win and the Spartans demonstrate that they DO have an offense, the conference isn't going to look significantly better than the ACC or whatever the hell the Big East remains are called. Those facts will continue to impact the thoughts of the poll voters.
Look i'm not saying that there should be any B1G teams besides us and Wisky .... i'm just saying the S-E-C lovefest is just nuts...to have Missy jump up from 25 to 12 because they beat a bad Gawja team that shoulda lost to Tenncheat... I don't know who you put up there.. i'm just saying the SEC isn't strong enough to have a 1/3 of the polls
