Am I the only one that feels the ADs are to blame? Outside of OSU, it seems that every university tries to hire the cheapest up and comer possible. Outside of meyer, who was the last big name hire to the Big ten? Its like the ADs hire for mediocrity. I look at what Washington State did with Leach and think that a B1 could have had similar success with him.

We need improvement all over the conference, starting with spending some coin upgrading facilities and hiring better coaches that actually care about recruiting. But, there is NO doubt that Nebraska has done absolutely nothing to help us. I know it's not a totally fair comparison but look at border state Missouri and how much better they are....in a better conference too. Missouri has better in-state talent but Nebraska has better history/pedigree and a fan base that is just about as loyal as any team could ask for. The fact that they have been so lackluster has hurt pretty bad.

Baylor will be in the Fiesta bowl playing UCF. Bama will be in the Sugar bowl, unless the Orange Bowl decides to pick up Bama first for some reason, but that is unlikely. We'll be in the Orange bowl playing in decreasing order of likelyhood. Oregon, Clemson, Okie, Okie State.

Stoops turned down the Buckeye job and OSU settled on Tressel. Michigan had Miles and others turn them down -TWICE!- and how did ol'Buttchin end up in Happy Valley? Because they couldn't do any better.

Clearly many coaches believe the grass is greener outside the Big Ten.
