2013 Preseason and regular polls

Agreed - going undefeated, as it always does, seems to work itself out. These shows and websites need the hits to survive and saying it's an easy 1-2 doesn't generate money. It is what it is, and as long as "it" is a B1G Title, so be it!

Yep...expect an onslaught this week from the critical mass of Mediots in an attempt to piss Ohio State fans off. Just ignore them. There is nothing they can say or do that will help or hurt this team on Saturday. That, thankfully, is in the hands of Urban Meyer.

.27 is a lot more than what was projected. Win and they are in*.

* = unless there is widespread manipulation in the final poll that will be made public.
I think Jerry Palm needs to update his excel spreadsheet as was off a little bit with his close prediction. Whereas I will also update not to use Jerry Palm as a BCS expert for next week.

The BCS is a circular argument. What I am saying that we need to hope that OSU wins big, and that MSU is penalized (and OSU by extension) too much by it. Just like that.

Oh and Buffalo winning the MAC championship would be a nice addition.

It's circular from previous week to current week as the media does their spin job.
If somebody is doing that spin job in 30 minutes in their own head; it's because they're biased from the onset and were never going to place us 1 or 2.
Where MSU is ranked next week has no effect on where we'll be ranked.
All we have to do is win.

And on that note, I'm hoping MSU ends up outside the top-14... rendering them ineligible for an at-large BCS bowl.

I love the 'JS' poll that has FSU #1 and.....Northern Illinois #2....and South Carolina #4. Really great poll we use, huh?

His poll has always been a joke. He's attempting to create a system to beat the spread by predicting margin of victory; which is hopeless to begin with... but then the BCS version is a retarded version since it can't use scoreline... which is of course the meat and potatoes to a system designed to predict the spread.
I'd not it's quite convenient that Sagarin does not maintain his historical ratings from week to week. He only keeps the final ratings from e/year -- when there are no games left to play. I have a feeling his scoreline predictor would perform no better than an average human.

whatever....and I hope MSU is BCS eligible - simply to piss in the Media's cheerios when they go to the Orange Bowl and beat the crap out of NIU.

I feel like I've been saying this forever. Yeah, if we go undefeated, we play in the BCS game. So much worry instead of letting the season play out.

.27 is pretty good margin to be ahead...No way The Ohio State University gets jumped should they win next Saturday.

Agree. If Auburn couldn't pull up to OSU's heels after beating Bama, they're not going to do it beating Mizzou.

Win and we're in.

Either way, Sparty can book their tickets to Pasadena. Ohio State's going to the Championship Game with a win and the Orange Bowl with a loss, so Sparty's path is paved either way.
