Do I think that the Buckeyes and the Noles would make it through an SEC schedule without a loss? Probably not, although I wouldn't have bet against the Noles doing it. But we don't know that would play out. SEC fans feel like they have evidence because last year's Notre Dame team got routed by Alabama. That's not fair to OSU or FSU. ND had nothing close to Carlos Hyde on that Irish team and the Noles receivers are light years more dangerous than what Notre Dame threw at Bama.

Here's what I think most pollsters won't be able to get around: We do know OSU and FSU still found a way to beat every opponent they played. Auburn was beat soundly by a three-loss LSU team that just barely survived against a woeful Arkansas team.

Texas A&M still being in the top 25 is as big a joke as there is.....theyve been exposed as a 1 man circus with no defense all year long who lost to all 4 quality opponents they faced.....

The inflation of SEC teams rankings "because they play in the SEC" makes their schedules look tougher then they are

Let's see what the official margin is - but you want to believe that MSU won't be penalized too much for losing to Ohio State. Unfortunately reality says they will be.....

It doesn't matter how much they are or aren't punished in the human polls. It's not like we get to play them again.
I only have a passing interest b/c I'm tired of seeing also-rans go to BCS games and lose.
If you want to play in a BCS game, earn it -- win the Conference.

I cant believe that they and Georgia are even in the top 25, with four losses. Oh wait, SEC...

That's great and all, but that's not the system or the situation at hand.

It would be better for the B1G for us to beat MSU by enough to send them to the Cap 1. :p

I'm quite well aware of the system. You seem to be under some strange impression that there's more polls to come out after next Sunday's BCS polls. There aren't.
MSU's rank in the polls next week has NO IMPACT WHATSOEVER on where we finish. And there is nothing we can do about the CPU rankings -- either we beat them, or we don't. Scoreline doesn't matter to the computers.

Let me explain - if you don't think people will dock MSU and by extension Ohio State - significantly because of what happens in the Big Ten championship game, you're crazy. The idea, then is to hope that OHio State wins big, and MSU isn't penalized too much - thereby degrading the win by Ohio State in the eyes of the idiot voters out there. Specifically the Harris Poll, but the coaches as well. Perception matters. It's clear to me these polls are being manipulated - if MSU is dropped significantly by someone, it's not out of the realm of possibilities that the same voter will drop Ohio State as well.

Is SoS determined by human polls? Or is it a computer program based on who you've beat, who they beat, who they beat, etc? Like OHSAA?

Sorry Mike but throughout this conversation, you've proven you don't have a clue how the BCS works.
The final polls are on Sunday. Nobody will see where MSU is ranked next week until the very same moment they see where we're ranked. There isn't another poll.
MSU could be ranked 25 next week, and it doesn't affect the outcome of 1-2 one iota.

MSU could be ranked 25 next week, and that same voter will be looking for an excuse such as that to downgrade Ohio State. If you don't see it, maybe you're blind, but the agenda is clear in this case.

Strength of schedule does, I think.

How are they going to compute the BCS rankings next week to know that MSU is ranked [x] spots lower, and then do the poll all over again? The polls on Sunday decide who goes. There's nothing after that. Unless you've come from the future, there is no way MSU's ranking in next week's polls has any affect on us.
And SOS in the computers is completely independent of the polls and binary - whether we beat them by 500 or 1.
