NC State really needs a stop or two, because they're just going basket for basket & can't get to within a two-possession game. There D has been there weak point all season & continues to be so today. They've made a nice comeback from being down 16 at the half, but are going to need something special down the stretch if they're going to have any chance.

NC State to within five now, down 65-60, but Temple is in the double bonus & tacking it to the rack every possession. 2:54 to go.

HUGE free throw miss by NC State on the front end of a 1-and-1 by a 92% FT shooter. That could be the killer blow, but still only down five with 2:32 to go.

NC State had a chance to tie the game with a wide open three attempt that missed. Foul on the rebound & Temple makes one of two at the line to go up 66-62 with 1:27 to go.

Another missed three by NC State & that could be all she wrote for them. Temple to the line for two up four with 53.8 to go.

NC State get a quick basket, but still down four with 44.0 left & Temple ball.

No idea why NC State didn't foul immediately on the inbound play, but let 12 seconds run off before committing the foul. Temple nail both free throws to extend the lead back to six with 32.7 left. Bizarre move that will probably cost them the game.

Wow. NC State just got boned hard on that foul call. Temple player was free on basket & was cleanly blocked, but an awful call against NC State put Temple at the line, who made one of two. NC State got fouled & made both free throws to make it a three point game with 17.2 to go.

Temple & NC State trade free throws for a quick basket and back to a three point game with 10.0 to go. Temple ball. Those 12 seconds NC State let run off the clock at the 44 second mark really looming large now. Have to hand it to Temple though, they've made almost all of there free throws the past few minutes of action.

NC State with another bizarre move let four seconds run off the clock before fouling. Temple hit one of two from the line, NC State get a quick two, but down two with 2.0 left & Temple ball. 16 Seconds foolishly let run off the clock in the past 42 seconds of game action & they're pretty much toast now.

Temple ice the game at the line & it ends 76-72. NC State just blew that at the end. 16 seconds let run off the clock in the last 44 seconds the difference. Temple deserves a lot of credit for making most of there free throws down the stretch. Great job by the Owls.

Sure are. Up 60-35 with 8+ change to go. Not a team I would like to be facing early in the tournament.

Indiana up 43-22 on James Madison at the half. Illinois doing work too, up 34-21 on Colorado with 1:17 left in the 1st.
