2013 NCAA East Regional

Unreal...Marquette was 1 for 12 from three before hitting 3 in a row.

Davidson's 63% effort from the FT line came back to bite them in the ass. They were 80% for the season.

:ohwell:

Davidson's 94% FT shooter was by himself with 5 seconds left and the pass to him was long.

I have Butler in the Sweet 16 so Marquette going down would've been fine with me. Damn.

Marquette got outplayed virtually all game, but pulled miraculous three after miraculous three down the stretch until Davidson just foolishly handed them the opportunity to seal the game with a dumb turnover. Can't believe Davidson didn't pull that out. It was there's to lose & they sure did that.

There needs to be a rule change made in college basketball for next season.

The following occurred in the Marquette/Davidson game and the Memphis/St. Mary's game. Both Marquette and St. Mary's had no timeouts left but the officials needed to check the clock:crazy: and both teams, as it usually happens, were allowed to go to their respective benches. This allowed both the Marquette coach and St. Mary's coach a free timeout to draw up a offensive last play.

When the officials have to check the clock for time remaining, it is my opinion that one of the officials should monitor the players and they should not be allowed to gather around their coach when one of the teams has no timeouts remaining.

Not the first time I've seen that, unfortunately.

Checking for fractions of seconds is less important than giving a team a free time out late. If Marquette has to go on the fly, who knows?

The problem is, even if they can't huddle they can still talk. It would be harder to police than it seems, kinda like that new rule the NFL passed yesterday.
