Not the first time I've seen that, unfortunately.

Checking for fractions of seconds is less important than giving a team a free time out late. If Marquette has to go on the fly, who knows?

The problem is, even if they can't huddle they can still talk. It would be harder to police than it seems, kinda like that new rule the NFL passed yesterday.

Solution is simple... stop looking for time to add back on at the end of the game. Basketball got along just fine before they started doing that, and why should the lost fractions of seconds at the end of the game be treated any differently than the lost fractions at at any other point?

There needs to be a rule change made in college basketball for next season.

The following occurred in the Marquette/Davidson game and the Memphis/St. Mary's game. Both Marquette and St. Mary's had no timeouts left but the officials needed to check the clock  and both teams, as it usually happens, were allowed to go to their respective benches. This allowed both the Marquette coach and St. Mary's coach a free timeout to draw up a offensive last play.

When the officials have to check the clock for time remaining, it is my opinion that one of the officials should monitor the players and they should not be allowed to gather around their coach when one of the teams has no timeouts remaining.

You are giving a team a free time out just because they have one left. It should be:

1. any team that that gathers around their coach is charged a time out; if a team gathers around their coach and doesn't have a time out it is technical.

or

2. no team can gather around their coach

or

3. both teams can gather around their coach, no time outs charged.

Montana is getting waxed in the first round again (second round, my ass), after dominating the Little Sky with a 19-1 record.

Syracuse 81
Montana 34

That's worse than the Griz opening loss last year:

Wisconsin 73
Montana 49

Big Sky! Big Sky! Big Sky!

Since they're playing Illinois, I found it funny that BTN was airing the Colorado pre-tournament press conference (from Austin), but Pac-12 Network did not.

It's not like P-12 Network has that much programming.

Temple up 38-22 on NC State at the half. So much for the supposed Wolfpack revival this season.
