Pitt playing Bowling Green in Detroit? Who thought that was a good idea?

Several answers: a) the TV gerbils who realized it was this or a Christmas Story mini marathon. b) Mark May
c) the same folks who made Penn State ineligible d) the coaches at Indiana, Northwestern and Purdue.

I have a relative that loves those god forsaken marathons. I avoid their house during the Holiday season like the plague... but alas... every time I'm reminded how we used to shop at some of those locations when I was a child.

I'm in agreement with you. How many bowl games have B1G teams? I think it's 8. Is the strength of the conference going to suffer if it goes 7-1 as opposed to 8-0? I don't think so.

Plus, even though Michigan hasn't done it's part for awhile, the perception of strength in the B1G is going to rely on the middle of the road teams. Everybody knows osu is the cream of the crop. Michigan still gets a little respect, for some reason, but everybody thinks teams like Wiscy, Iowa, Nebraska, NW, and so on are jokes. Those are the teams that need to be consistent winners.

So have no fear, I will join with you in rooting against 1 B1G team in particular, though I feel those teams will be different.

But that's all just my IMO.

I like Wisconsin' chances so long as they don't pull another PSU. Wisconsin has man-handled over-rated SEC schools in that bowl quite a bit during the BCS era.
I also like Nebraska's chances against Georgia, assuming their OLine and Armstrong have had enough time to get healthy again.
Don't think Sparty has the horses to hang on to the end. And never know if I should expect greatness or mediocrity of Ferentz... probably the latter.

I don't know why we insist on playing such a ridiculous bowl schedule while the PAC schedules half their bowls against the MWC.
We have 1 tie-in with the MAC (our worst team, which isn't filled this year) ... and no tie-ins with the ACC or the Big East. Both of which may as well be Mid Majors when it comes to bowl season.
Delany is shooting us in the foot as usual.

Wiscy has lost to Ped State 2 years in a row, so that speaks to something Ped State has over Wiscy. Coaching? But if they have motivation they can win. I think SC is better balanced and wins this one.

The Rose Bowl looks like a toss up. But I'll go with Sparty as I just think it's their year.
Minny vs 'Cuse is winnable.
TSUN vs K State is winnable. TSUN seems to be on a roll.
Iowa vs LSU looks like a mismatch but the LSU QB is out. True freshman QB Anthony Jennings will start the Outback Bowl. This could really help the Hawkeyes.
Nebraska vs Georgia. This game looks like a hot mess special. Maybe Nebraska squeaks it out.
OSU vs Clemson. Whoever scores last wins. Toss up.
So it looks like we win less than half the games, again.

I can't bring myself to root against any BIG teams in bowls this year. And, if you do choose to root against them, and your wish is fulfilled, don't be shocked if it comes back to bite you around this time next year. Too many bad showings, and it could give that little "committee" all the excuse it needs to bump tOSU down to position #5 for the playoffs in 2014.

You're buddy is 100% right. Not only do we need the Big Ten to do as well as possible this bowl season, we truly need Michigan to get their shit together and get back to being at least a top program if not top 10.

Root for them to shit the bed in basketball. That hurts neither Ohio State's situation nor the Big Ten's dominant reputation.

Yeah Delaney really screwed the pooch by not putting together a shitty bowl schedule. What a maroon.

Thank you for twisting my words.
Fact remains, so long as we play that bowl schedule the B10 will continue to be under-rated every single year.
All the talking heads look at is the W-L and scorelines; doesn't matter if everyone is playing up a spot and by far the most difficult schedule
A bowl schedule on par with the other power conferences (instead of attempting to over-achieve every single year) would go a long way towards restoring conference reputation.

People can talk about how "rooting against" any teams in the B10 will lead to us getting left out of the playoff in the future.. but thing is, who I root for has no impact on the game.
Setting our conference up for failure by scheduling far and away the toughest bowl schedule, however, will keep us out of the playoffs at some point in the future.
