You watched a Robbie Benson movie.

I knind of liked that movie. It had one of the great movie quotes at the end where Henry Steele (Robie Benson) tells the coach what he can do with his scholarship (after the coach tells him that he can now keep his scholarship):

"Henry Steele: All the way up with a red hot poker. I can play anywhere now."

I think you were better off to just let him laugh at you once.

Used to write for a recruiting website with loads of southeastern insiders; good friends with a few of the writers from Tomahawk Nation and have plenty of Bama connects. Both sides, FSU & Bama, have the same info on this switch.

Cool. Next time, please include some of that info in your post so it doesn't come off as uninformed, unconnected, or one of those "gut feeling" posts, if you're not providing a link. Thanks for the info...

I found this article that considers possible high level causes for recent SEC success to be interesting:
http://www.omaha.com/article/20111231/SPORTS/712319797

In particular, I found section 5 (roughly "defense wins championships") to be encouraging, since Urb has had so much success so far recruiting defensive players.

And when I think about John Cooper's age old point of tOSU having no competing universities in the huge state of Ohio (once Dantonio left Cincy) and about the prospecting of owning PA (with PSU and Pitt in apparent trouble) with trouble in at Indiana and Illinois, then to me it seems that Urb has outflanked the SEC. Daydreams of the board game "risk" float through my head, with new armies replenishing tOSU from the entire midwest.

The final nail in the coffin will be Urb defeating tSUN on the field, to keep them out of our recruiting back yard.

From the above article...
Last summer, the SEC announced new legislation that restricts over-signing. From a public relations standpoint, it's a smart move. But from a competitive standpoint, DiNardo said, it's a mistake.
Never heard this one. Can someone confirm this? Basically, is it a hard cap like in the Big10?

i think it's a similar, if not identical rule to what the big 10 does with 25 per year with a certain number of early enrollees. so yes, it will definitely shake things up down in SEC land.
