2012 Offense Discussion

Rushes per game

14.6 - Braxton as the starter (Colorado-Florida, the # jumps to 15.2 if you remove MSU where they used Joe also)

16.1 - Tebow So
13.7 - Tebow Jr
15.5 - Tebow Sr

06.3 - Tebow Fr (obviously neither the starter nor an actual QB yet)

Yes but it will be a different strategy than with Tebow. Miller's inside read running will be the counterpoint to the power game with Hyde, Smith and Dunn. He's going to hit some seams and take a few to the house (double cliche score!).

With all the talk of Tebow and alex smith, I thought our offense would more resemble Oregons. And braxton would run the offense more like darron Thomas. He was run a lot but in far different ways than what Tebow did based on his backfield mates. Just like miller

Yes, hopefully the quarterback draw won't be the call on every 3rd and long in this offense..

Ken Pryor at 5 concepts of Urban's spread, and details the 'Follow Pivot'.

The spread offense utilized by Meyer and his coaching staff is primarily structured around five passing concepts:

  1. All Go
  2. Smash
  3. Houston
  4. H-Option

I had not realized that Jordan Hall was moved to receiver to play the Harvin role???

http://espn.go.com/college-football...te-buckeyes-coach-urban-meyer-focusing-change

he Buckeyes also moved tailback Jordan Hall to receiver during the spring. Meyer hopes to use Hall in a role similar to what Harvin had at Florida."He doesn't have the speed of a Percy, but he's smart and tough," Meyer said. "We put him at receiver and he was a natural. That's a good sign."
If so, that would make a lot of sense. Carlos Hyde is the lone back, ready to pound it.

I wanna punch Jesse Palmer In the mouth... But all in all I have to agree very fair & modest

I don't know why people are knocking you guys after the spring game. I didn't see it, but I heard some in the media knocking Brax's decision making?!?

C'mon....he's just a soph.

You guys are gonna pound the shiat out of a lot of teams this year that are underestimating you.

ESPN roundtable breaks down OSU (mostly offense and schedule)

http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:7874055

Lots of OSU stuff on the mothership today.

From the comments...

If you think ESPN favors the Buckeyes then listen to Mark May, you'd almost think someone from Ohio State gave him gonorrhea the way he talks about the Buckeyes

So the mystery is finally solved.
