Crean's a prick. He also screws up a lot of in-game things that grind IU fans.
But his overall philosophy of get out and let the athletes be athletes and really getting intense effort out of his guys is impressive and dangerous in today's game. He's recruited for, and developed, depth on that team- 5 guys scoring 10+ ppg.
He's got them playing some championship level basketball.

It does irritate me that in the past several seasons OSU has had two, maybe 3 teams better than IU's this year yet they are favorites to win the NC simply because there aren't any other great teams out there, in those years there were always other teams from other conferences that were stronger than this season. The one year IU finally gets a great team, it looks like there's no one else out there from another conference to stop them.
IU will likely win the B1G now. I think they play a good style of play, and I am glad for the part they have done in helping change the image of the B1G away from the plodding, talent-barren league that it has been cast as in the past. But if they lose Zeller and Oladipo in addition to the SR Watford after this season, they will go back to being a middling B1G team next year.
