I just don't get why this is a bad hire.

First of all, it's funny because the tsun fanbase wants nothing to do with him and are in meltdown mode. He also has a losing record in his coaching career, which probably doesn't help him when it comes to gaining their support. Personally, I don't think it is a bad hire, but he has a daunting task ahead of him with unrealistic expectations and no fan support. Good luck to him.

The hire itself isn't that bad, I like him as a coach. I believe the fanbase backlash is more to do with the "process" of the coaching search and how inept and scripted it seemed. On the subject of Hoke though, if Michigan actually antes up to give him a quality (not necessarily Michigan-backgrounded) staff then we can finally start playing ball.

Irregardless of whether he was wanted or not, Brady Hoke's the head coach now.. I would hate to see the division that sabotaged Rich Rod sabotage Hoke, but I could definitely see it happening.

Irregardless isn't a word, and fans had nothing to do with Rodriguez's defense. It is funny that you continue to blame other fans for his failure though.

He's tremendously average in every way? I guess it's a "safe hire", but not what they were hoping for...that's for certain. It went from looking like they were on the cusp of hiring a guy who could fix things and possibly get them back to the heights of the Bo days (Harbaugh) to a guy who is, well, LLoyd Carr? Maybe?

Be ready for a basketball halftime "introduction" tomorrow against the Buckeyes, ala Tress in 2001.

When you state "You continue to blame other fans," that implies that I've done it before. I'm not here to defend Rich Rod, he dug his own grave with his subpar defenses, lack of attention to detail, and constant teases of potential without actual production. That's said and done, and over with.

I was simply stating that the fan division ON TOP of that, or the fact that plenty of fans gave him no shot to succeed before he even took the job (Like fans are doing right now with Hoke) is something that needs to stop, or Hoke is gonna end up being hurt just as much.
