Lost a LB to UCF.

The beav's percentages are suffering this year. A few of the guys he went 50.1 on ended up going elsewhere. I'll chalk it up to the intense malaise coming from the realization they're never going to be Oregon now.

yeah, I don't really understand that decision. To each his own, good luck to him.

He has family down there from what I heard, good luck to the kid.. Being we recruited him for two weeks, not a shocker.

This is a "nice" class, if he would have got Cooper and Willingham I would have ranked it as good.

We have 16 slots open for next year and we have two redshirt Sr's who will not be getting scholarships next year is my guess. Cox and Robinson(little slot dude). So that gives us 18 and with some leaving early for what ever reason. This should put us around 20-23 scholarships. Next year class is the one if Hoke shows he can recruit or not.

He salvage this class from disaster in three weeks. I will rate this effort a "B"

I think so, he took the class from 62 to 27 in 3 weeks. He salavage the class and got some good football players.

Cooper and Willingham were the two he needed to get and did not.

I really don't know what some expected Hoke to do in 3 weeks, Brandon really made a mess of this years class IMO.

not sure where you get 62 from. worst I saw three weeks ago was 40. Still, the improvement made in two short weeks is pretty good. Next year will be the defining class as to what we can expect going forward.

I also don't see anybody leaving early from this team either.

Even with the perceived ranking improvement, it just seemed like tsun poached a few kids from second rate programs. I mean, if you or I became head man in AA (I would sooner shoot myself :) ) and I gave a tsun offer to a kid whose best offer was IU, Minny or some compilation of MAC schools, I'm going to get the exact same players your new staff landed. Am I way off?

Beside the QB who else did they poach?

Rawls had only two offers MI and CMU, per scout his issue was his grades which lowered his ranking.

They poach the CB also from Minn. They got two recruits from other Big Ten schools.

Again when you starting recruiting with 3 weeks left, you get what you get. Next class is what I am looking at.

Taylor from IU
Bellomy from Purdue
the kid from Vanderbilt
the kid from Minny

You proved my point with Rawls, you or I would have got him if we were head coach. Poole's offer list was also tier 2 IMO.

My point is, once again, if you or I were named head coach in AA, we get the exact same kids. The new staff didn't do anything we couldn't have done. The school sold itself.

Also, think about what tsun lost by letting RR go. Hart, Frost, Crawford, Fisher, etc., etc. That would have been a phenomenal class.

I agree with you 100% RR recruiting class being better.

Rawls was going to MI if he got the grades, so the point you or I could have got him is, well duh.

"These guys are going to be guys that have an impact on this program," [Hoke] said. "Guys that are made of character, and guys who come from families that understand what Michigan means and representing Michigan."

So, what does Michigan mean? Does the M stand for mediocre? Does Michigan refer to some kind of divine right to be an elite program? It seems that Michigan means arrogance.

Given their inherent inability to be a championship caliber team by simply relying on talent from their own state, Michigan's only hope is to be relevant outside their own state. And, what's to say that it will happen? My hope is that their brand fades and we can continue to glory in their delusional expectations.

we've had one championship caliber team since 1997, and we all saw how exposed that team was at the end of 06 beginning of 07.

I have no idea how these kids will turn out, but being most of them our defense guys, it's safe to say they are going to impact the program.

I understand what heisman is saying, and he's correct. The reason is simple Hoke lacks street cred(for lack of a better word). Harbaugh or Miles could have pulled higher ranking recruits away from programs. Until Hoke gets some street cred he will get 3-4* players. Tressel got his cred with a NC early. This is why our DC was our most important addition. He has street cred.
