So.... if Michigan players are taught how to tackle and not take ridiculous angles, does anyone think they're better than a 24 point a game defense?
Hard to say, really. They play a pretty friendly schedule, but there's still a healthy dearth of talent. If they learn to tackle and even decent pursuit angles, I suppose it's possible. Then again, it's still the 3rd scheme they're learning in four years. The offense's growing pains could be interesting as well.

I actually think they'll be a better team just by finally learning some fundamentals.

WMU
ND
EMU
SDSU
Minny
@NW
@MSU
Purdue
@Iowa
@Illinois
Nebraska
tOSU
WMU, EMU, Minny, NW, Purdon't look like likely wins. SDSU, Illinois look very winnable. Iowa, MSU look like a toss ups, and I think ND, Neb & tOSU are sure losses at this point. 7-5, even 8-4 is achievable. I'm sure they'll all be in a lather after a 5-1 start followed by a swoon once they hit the teeth of the B10 (again). But, I think they'll be more competitive just based on the fact their DC won't be waving a stuffed beaver in their faces.

Hell, they improved the minute RR was fired.

I agree with your conclusion, though I'm not sure the results on the field will necessarily back it up. But, like you said, the schedule isn't a killer and with some attention to fundamentals and being less of a one trick pony, they might do pretty well (relatively speaking, of course).
