2011 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

A pair of area running backs also picked up All-Ohio honors Tuesday. Clear Fork's Jordan McCune and Highland's Justin Staton were third team picks on the Division IV team.

Despite missing almost two full games with a broken leg, McCune led the Ohio Cardinal Conference for a second straight season. The junior piled up 1,205 yards and scored 19 rushing TDs.

"Being on the All-Ohio team was a personal goal, but it's not possible without team success," said McCune, who helped the Colts reach the Division IV playoffs. "I wish I would have been healthy the last couple of games, but things happen."

Clear Fork coach Dave Caroll said major college recruiters have begun to show interest in McCune.

"Ohio State called and requested tape on him," Carroll said. "I think he's one of the top backs in Ohio regardless of division."

I appreciate the lists, but I was looking more for top 100 type guys that might be difference makers... for instance I know that Westerman is an elite prospect

are there any elite O-Line prospects from Ohio in the 2011 class?

Maybe Audrey Walker or Donovan Clark...I personally think Clark will be a DT and that Walker is a top 150 guy. I don't think there is an "elite" guy like Norwell out there next year, but Walker or Clark could get offers.

Whoa whoa whoa is there a typo, or is this kid really a 187lb DE? Is he playing 200lb OTs or something? Not sure how elite he can be, might need to gain another 30lbs

Look at all of his profiles. He's listed as tall as 6'3 and as heavy as 202. Still seems a bit light but he's only a junior. In the 2nd pic you can see his frame and he can definitely add more good weight. Maybe he could get to 235 or so and end up a LEO or weakside DE.

so I guess I haven't heard about many because there aren't many, that is somewhat concerning

thanks cjs100 for looking all of that up

Skura is a name we might to get familiar with...he made it to a couple of bowl practices at OSU.

Should be interesting to see if we go after Skura and Walker...I'm guessing we land one more tackle in '10, meaning the interior will likely be a focal point of the '11 class. You can convert tackles but sometimes I like true guards at 6'3-6'5 that can get leverage more easily on the 6'1-6'3 DT's.
