2011 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Big weekend for Big Ten junior days
Monday, January 18, 2010
Posted by Bill Kurelic

In Columbus, Ohio, Jim Tressel and his staff welcomed some of the country's top prospects for their junior day held in conjunction with the Ohio State-Wisconsin basketball game on Saturday night.

Among the junior stars in attendance was quarterback Braxton Miller (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne), the No. 1 junior in Ohio. Also in attendance was another top five in-state prospect, linebacker Trey DePriest (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield), as well as linebacker Jarrett Grace (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain), defensive back Eliar Hardy (Pickerington, Ohio/Central) and quarterback Cole Stoudt (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) were other talented prospects with scholarship offers from BCS schools who attended Ohio State's junior day on Saturday.

is jones referring to cardale jones from glenville? i was never under the impression we were ever going to go after him but i must be sadly mistaken if he is in fact the jones reference..

Yes, that is Cardale Jones. According to a recent update done on Jones and his teammate Andre Sturdivant, we seem to be close to offering Jones a scholarship. The issue IMO isnt if he will be getting a scholarship, it is a matter of when. It will be interesting to see if the staff waits until Miller decides before offering Jones a scholarship, in the interest of not scaring away Miller(although Miller seems to be a legit talent who shouldnt be afraid of competition)

Bump. Let's see this one pick up steam and the 2010 Recruiting Discussion thread die down a bit. Good Lord it needs a rest. :)

Amen! We are already in on alot of good players in 2011. The key is to get off to a fast start with the in state Ohio kids. I'm confident we will get most of who we want (Miller, Grant, etc).

Sushi = elitist?

Kris Harley is one that I've heard very positive things about, so why hasn't there been an offer yet?

It would appear that the staff would like to see him at camp first...at least that is what I've heard from someone who seems pretty in tune with OSU's prescence in Indiana.
