Ahhhh, the subjectivity of player rankings.....this could be several hundred pages of mental masterbation comparing a MLB in Rhode Island versus a MLB in Texas or California....who's best? Dunno, and won't until they have been in the program for 3-4 years and they're a senior. Or more probably, when they are selected and shine in the NFL.....

I also foresee that someone with a 3* verbaled by the Buckeyes (or Florida, or Texas, etc) will 'magically' become a 4* later in the school year, as the players are 're-evaluated' by what sort of stats they put up. Humerous but hey, I spend my $60 or so on the mags that tout the kids as future all-americans, just like many of you do as well. That's why they are in business. I guess don't get caught up in it or just enjoy it, and wait until they settle it on the field........(and I think that all the kids that OSU signs should be automatic 5*'s).

Our coaching staff has proven time and time again that they are much better at talent evaluation then web site guys who have probably never coached a day in their life. Rankings for most sites are a joke at best. If we offer early after a camp showing then I am always 100% sure we got a solid guy that will contribute. Go Bucks

P.S. on a side note I think it is even funny that many times you see schools like Florida and ND follow up our offers with their own. Go Bucks

I like these two tweets from an ESPN reporter. In my view, it sums up ESPN, its recruiting service and the viewpoint of majority of its college football reporters.

If you only hire people who's experience is covering Southeastern football, obviously they'll have a slight bias (i.e. Schlabach, Forde, Schad, etc.).

Thank gosh Big Ten Network extended its Saturday pre-show an hour from 10-Noon. No more GameDay and USC fluff stories or Todd McShay breaking down draft prospects.

And this is why I don't believe any intelligent college football fan could possible think recruiting rankings are anything but entertainment. They have ZERO value past being entertainment for fans of a few SEC fans.

Athletic receiver Evan Spencer (Vernon Hills, Ill.) is a coveted playmaker who makes an already deep class better and helps OSU move up a spot since our last rankings update. The Buckeyes have cleaned up in Ohio with No. 2-ranked quarterback Braxton Miller (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne), top-five DE Steve Miller (Canton, Ohio/McKinley) and four-star OG Michael Bennett (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville). Miller, an Under Armour All-American, fits the mold of a Troy Smith, but Miller is more explosive as a runner. He has a big arm and can make all the throws. Jim Tressel and his staff went outside the state as well, plucking two talented four-stars out of Florida: safety Jeremy Cash (Plantation, Fla./Plantation) and tight end Jeff Heuerman (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier).
