I did after the Iowa game that year.

I was exaggerating because I'm jacked for basketball season. Chill pillz in order...........

You're right, they are...so go ahead and take a few, because I myself am totally chilled about the football program and know this will pass soon. Think before you start spewing your opinions as fact...

Listen, to suggest the 1960,61,62 team had anywhere near the same amount of talent as this team does from top to bottom is ridiculous.
It's rather impossible to compare anything to alleged, untested talent, which is all that these guys have so far: McDonald, Scott, Thompson, Amir, Weatherspoon.
Seems like a fact to me, but maybe, maybe, it's an opinion.
 How gracious of you.
There's no Bobby Knights on this roster.
JD Weatherspoon isn't going to contribute much more, if as much, as Knight did. Ravenel isn't exactly a ringer either.

It's quite debatable whether they're as talented as the 06 team, particularly with how 3 of those frosh played like veterans. The 06 players are equal to, superior than or comparable to this squad at almost every spot.

Sullinger - Oden
Buford < Cook
Craft < Conley
Thomas > Hunter
Butler - Scott?

Harris < Williams
Lewis > Thompson
Lighty - McDonald
Twig - Ravenel
none - Weatherspoon

I'm chilled about the football program. I love my buckeyes. Cmon now. All I was suggesting is we could get better attendance and sell out the Schott because people's interest for this top3 basketball team should be through the roof.

I wasn't dawging the football team. Let's not make this something that it's not. I only said that football was trending down.

The state of the football program is obviously less than it was after the Sugar Bowl victory and even less than the start of the season. To me that's trending down. I wasn't suggesting that the football program is in the dumpster. In fact, I'm in the minority that thinks we will leave Lincoln with a victory this Saturday. That might make me naive.

If you aren't familiar with this season's roster, you might want to check it out. There's no Bobby Knights on this roster.
We get it that you are excited about the upcoming basketball season but let's not go stupid on us. Those are just a ridiculous statements and goes to show your youth:shake:

Let's hope so, though it may take another halftime speech by the next coach to get them there.

I know what you meant (too an extent), but the first 5 games of a new head coach's tenure is not long enough a timeframe to constitute a "trend".

+ Sibert and Smith Jr.

This obviously debatable.

I think Buford as a Sr is better than Cook as a freshman. Craft and Conley are comparable but Conley's quicks were elite.

I truly think that this years team is the most talented. With that being said, I think Deshaun Thomas is over-rated and I don't think he averages more than 28 mins/game.

Sam Thompson is a freak. Now that's talent right there.

That's what trending is.

www.thefreedictionary.com/trend
The general direction in which something tends to move. 2. A general tendency or inclination. See Synonyms at tendency.

I'm not putting a final judgement on this football team or coach Fick.

Are we so sensitive now that we can't admit the football team is currently trending down? Again, that doesn't mean rock bottom.

I don't disagree at all with you argument, but give me a senior Will Buford over freshman Cook every single day. Cook was a great spark to bring in off of the bench, but Buford is a better all-around player.

the 06 team was clutch...something yet to be seen with this current team...wins over Xavier and Tennessee in clutch time during the tournament, and off the top of my head i believe we beat wisconsin at the last second also

I'm not sure that you can accurately comment on a team's (i.e. the 2011/2012 Basketball Buckeyes) talent when they haven't even played their 1st game yet. The real evaluation of this year's team will be after the season is over and see what they accomplished.

FWIW, in my opinion it will take a whole lot to beat the accomplishments of JerryLucas, John Havlicek, Larry Siegfried, Mel Nowell, & Joe Roberts, etc.

Perhaps it's time for those pills you talked about earlier.

I don't think any of us need dictionary lessons from you.

That must be a typo. The only way anybody could argue this is if we're talking about just pure talent. There's a reason Cook was moved to the bench during that season, he struggled. Other than athleticism, senior Buford has the advantage in every category over freshman Cook.

Late to the party, but Ninja's "fact #3" isn't even something you want to be true. The last thing we need at the Schott are "borderline fans" who bailed on the football team just because the water got a little choppy. Pass.

What we *do* need are passionate hoops fans who know the game and who understand the role of fans in making a basketball venue a nightmare for opposing teams.
