What I absolutely love is that the program that once touted itself as the Harvard of the West and argued that their standards were just a bit higher than anyone around is now imploding over a player whose academic standing is marginal at best.

Rich Rodriquez is the very definition of the NEW "Michigan Man".

people are obviously looking for a scapegoat in all of this. But seems like if people want to be pissed at somebody, it's going to have to land at the feet of Brandon. With this letter he supposedly sent out it seems clear that he is the reason behind DD suddenly not being admitted. It sucks for DD because it would appear that a plan was laid out for him as to what he needed to do to get in. From what i've read, he did that, and now he's still not being allowed in. If anything, it's an embarrassing situation for UM because they basically wasted the kids time.

That being said, if he's in, great, if not, move on. I feel like every messaged board I hit dealing with UM lately is like seeing a sequel to that Mel Gibson movie and UM is full of Men in Black or something. It's quite annoying.

I'll be honest, I miss the days of being back in high school, before the Internet was so prevalent, and all I knew about UM football was basically 3 hours of kicking ass every Saturday. It was much more enjoyable than all of this crap.

about as pathetic as the osu facebook group that wants donations to fly a banner over The Big House every saturday home game with the slogan "Michigan is our Bitchagain."

let's try not to label the entire fanbase, unless you want to be included in the above class level. :wink:

Um, there's a difference between an obviously tongue-in-cheek, silly facebook page and a campaign to harass the university I "support" because they won't let in a borderline kid with a well publicize checkered past. Nice try though...

I don't think there's ever been any debate about whether we're a classy fanbase devoid of those types :wink:

This mob, however, is stripping this subset of Michigan fans of any claims to the academic and cultural superiority they adored so greatly over the last century.

We've always separated three7, jbolin999, zwem, HailToMichigan (even if his arguments are cooky), goblue15 from the crazies.

So far you seem well on your way to joining them.

Thanks so much for making Michael Westbrook, Reggie Brooks & Desmond Howard so alluring on draft day, albeit by different methods. My skins still haven't recovered.

What bothers me is how are fanbase is using the "Lack of support" as the scapegoat for Rich Rod's lack of success here. If the guy is an elite coach he will win period, I just don't see how any of this has an effect on our teams on field preformance like the majority of are fanbase wants to believe.

What is Harbaugh's "dark side"? His calling out of Michigan academics as applied to football? His no-bullshit approach is what would most concern me as a Buckeye fan should he become Michigan's next football head coach.

GBW finally has started eliminating posts about these shenanigans (not cheeky and fun kind) with the beav pinning a post atop the board saying they "can't be tied" to such things. Oddly, they had no trouble with it all week, so read into that what you will...and beav still doesn't chastise anybody for their silliness. Classic thomas.
