2010 TSUN offseason arguments & shenanigans

Oh well then shit, that changes everything. He's out.

Can't have something that disruptive after the golden era of Rich Rod. They are much better off with losing records, NCAA investigations, massive player defections and a guy who wants to bring the Dorsey's of the world into their program.

GBW finally has started eliminating posts about these shenanigans (not cheeky and fun kind) with the beav pinning a post atop the board saying they "can't be tied" to such things. Oddly, they had no trouble with it all week, so read into that what you will...and beav still doesn't chastise anybody for their silliness. Classic thomas.

That means someone on the coaching staff or close to the staff told him to tone his site down. The ironic thing about Tom is that the coaching staff that he so desperately defends does not like him, the only one they really like is Sam Webb.

Harbaugh's dark side is waiting less than 24 hours after Bo died to talk [censored] about UM academics. If he had any balls he would have said something to Bo's face, not wait until he was deceased. I hope we never hire Jim Harbaugh.
1) 11-19-06 - Bo dies
12-20-06 - Harbaugh hired at Stanford
03-??-07 - Harbaugh calls out Carroll, saying he'll leave USC soon. He was a year off.
05-04-07 - Harbaugh continues his brash declarations, this time ripping UM academics

2) That wasn't really the issue. The drunken escapades and other burned bridges were the bigger ones, but those were bigger concerns back when Michigan was a stable program that needed a boost. After having nearly everything they hold dear stripped away, they just want someone to restore the Old Michigan. If Harbaugh wins 9 games and continues to outrecruit powerhouses while at stanford, he'll be hired this December unless RR wins 9-10 games and avoids any of his plentiful ugly outings (on the field and off).

I don't know why I thought it was right after Bo died. Still don't like him and think he's overrated. His first two seasons at Stanford have mirrored Rich Rods, yet people think he's great. Don't get it.
There's considerable difference in cache between um and Stanford.

I agree. Never hire Jim Harbaugh. It is so much nicer when Michigan has a coach that doesn't know his head from his vag.

I'll be honest, I miss the days of being back in high school, before the Internet was so prevalent, and all I knew about UM football was basically 3 hours of kicking ass every Saturday. It was much more enjoyable than all of this crap.

There's a team I could submit for your approval that kicks ass on Saturdays in the Fall. It's provided much more enjoyment than M*ch*g*n football for years now--especially late in November.

Because Stanford didn't have better talent than 9 teams on his schedule like UM, yes even with Threet.

Harbaugh's watershed moment was the biggest upset of all time (by point spread) @ USC.
Rich Rod's was either 7-6 Wisky (then they lost 7 of 8) or 6-6 ND (then they lost 7 of 9).

Harbaugh must win this year to validate himself, without that, your criticism will hold true. It's more about the attitude, toughness & recruiting he has brought to lowly Stanford.

Harbaugh called out USC and won that fall, and was 2-1 vs CPC.
Harbaugh called out OSU and won as a player.

You can see why OSU fans think he could change the attitude of this rivalry, on the recruiting trail and field. Problem is he'll have some pretty meager parts to work with, a lot worse than the bodies on roster December 07.
What if RR wins 9
The 4 better not include Sparty, Illinois, Purdue or a blowout loss to OSU.

I think a lot of it has to do with his clear setting of sights on USC. That is to say, he gained a lot of cred by saying "We're gonna beat USC" and then doing so. Make no mistake, if he came to Michigan, he'd set Ohio State squarely in the crosshairs.

Building on what Beaver posted above:

Their records for their first two seasons at the helm are nearly identical, but there are significant differecnes. Harbaugh's first year was 4-8, while DickRod's was 3-9, yet Harbaugh inherited a 1-11 team, whilst DickRod was handed a team that went 9-4. Harbaugh also didn't lose by 35 points to his bitter rival. While they both went 5-7 their second season, Harbaugh went 8-5 in his third season (8-4 then lost to Oklahoma in the Sun Bowl). Let's see if DickRod can go 8-4 this regular season...somehow I doubt it. And remember that Harbaugh is coaching at Stanford, not at the winningest program in college football history.

hey, leave C-Webb out of this dammit........LOL.

We'll see what Harbaugh can do with out his golden boy this year. and we'll also compare RR third year to JH when it's over.

i'm with RR at least through this year. If it's another epic failure, cut the strings and start over. It ain't the end of the world.
