Scout Free - 7/7 - DeAnthony Arnett's top 5 = MSU, Cal, Tenn, OU & USC. He likes Da U but they haven't offered.

Dave Berk got destroyed for this update, and 5.5 weeks later it gets pinned atop GBW

The favorites are identical except Iowa is gone, who was listed 6th. It even has the same addendum about miami.

1) You're chastizing Berk for "hiding" updates by posting an article that links to a restricted site thread? GBW is notorious for hiding updates on their premium board, yet still publishing them via articles on the national network so they hit OSU scout's front page (with no chance of those members accessing the info, since they only have access to OSU's premium board).

2) The only "quote put into context" isn't Berk's - which is virtually IDENTICAL to ESPN's Shurburtt article - but your rampant character assassination of anyone who doesn't sell your propaganda. The sad thing isn't your pathetic attempt to paint Berk as a MSU site villain, but how many of your clueless worshippers on GBW will buy it hook line & sinker. Either that, or how you'll welcome Berk with open arms the next time he has an article you want to pin atop your board.

3) How [censored]ing hard is it to spell Berk? I know that you & the English language have never seen eye to eye, but seriously, it's four letters. :lol:

Good news about the defense

According to coach tall's son the defense has been practicing by themselves and have made tshirts that say 3 and out. Looks like thy are on a mission to prove he critics and skeptics wrong. I can't wait for the season to start!

GBW has always taken defending RR to the extreme, from shifting the blame over hiring Shafer as "RR got bad advice" to being a victim in any number of other incidents (WVU lawsuits, construction lawsuits) and basically every dual threat he failed to land in year 1 (BJ Daniels, Terrelle Pryor, Star Jackson) was secured by illegal benefits.

Ever since this Dorsey thing broke, the board has followed their leader in blaming and spewing hatred at the admissions office and athletic department for corruption and faction-based malfeasance.

It's really reached a new low now. In about a dozen different threads over a few days, users have posted dozens of names, emails & contact information of random staffers who they assume are to blame by being in proximity to the group they hate. Tons of posters have responded about emails, calls they have made or are about to begin.
This is wierd...so I call back to get the right email cause apparently I wrote it down wrong. I speak w/ the SAME girl, Courtney and she swears she never spoke w/ me. SO im like ok, whatever just transfer me again to Kelly...she says Kelly who? I have David Lamb as the spokesperson on Demar? I say ok that will work. She transfers me and I get Kelly's assistant again. This time I say I just spoke w/ you and need to verify Kelly's email...she said were not allowed to give it out anymore, we will take your name and number and when there is a university statement we will call...I laugh and say please just verify this for me....

So here is the right one...

These threads are not being deleted, but that's not surprising given that conspiracies against Lloyd were rarely if ever contested by those in power (there were those regular posters who defended their coach, particularly against the irony of going nuts with extreme faction behavior to combat anti-faction behavior).

Those willing to stand up for anything other than frothing mob insanity are vilified run off, including a staff member who worked under RR & Lloyd who thought it was unfair to deny Demar but tried to provide some levity.

It will be very interesting to see what happens if RR is gone this fall and a new coach is hired like Harbaugh, who places a premium on academic standards and doing things the Michigan way, at least in public appearances. They have been 110% in RR's corner and against most of UM for over two years.

BTW, the dual staff member tried to explain that while unfair, Lloyd Carr had earned the right to bring in more borderline kids than RR. He was attempting to show his support for both staffs, express his distaste for the Dorsey rejection but explain why it happened.

There were a few supportive responses, but most responded with rage over the notion that he had to earn it:
- Hasn't RR earned it with his graduation rate? his team GPA? Never mind that the only classes graduating were riddled with attrition, and the team GPA was later revealed to be incorrectly reported by UM as a record high
- Compare their track record with troubled kids, Carr w/ Slocum, Butler, RR w/ Feagin, Slocum (yes someone seriously brought up feagin, then there's the matter of listing two troubled kids as Carr's record when the rest of the time the angry mob is whining about how borderline kids were let in constantly under Carr)
- RR has earned more than Lloyd's pathetic underachieving teams
- It doesn't make sense to make him earn it with wins, how can he win without that freedom in recruiting?


Remember when this rivalry was something to be revered, even during the down years? :ohwell:


I guess we should have had more wood to chop when Schiano was considering UM :( Come save us Harbaugh, you're our only hope. Many heroes over the course of history have had a dark side, at this point we'll take it.
