Guy might be starter than we give him credit for...

Still an ass.

Freudian slip?

...all-in-all I'm not sure that being smarter than what we give R-Rod credit for is anything to call home about...

That's like saying Justin Beiber could beat the crap out of Haley Joel Osment...

In the end it's all so pathetic you could cry...

I'm about halfway through. #25 LB Kenny Demens has been making some nice plays out there. He has improved since last year, while Mouton & Ezeh continue to be liabilities.

Kovacs is basically the same player he was last year. He is a good tackler, but only a drag down guy. Two times he filled the hole nicely, only to give up 4 yards after contact to freshman spread running backs bowling him over. This becomes a lot more problematic when Saine, Hampton or Clay come rumbling through the hole.

After being bowled over twice, he lost containment on Tate on a rollout juke move. The no-contact jersey gave Kovacs a bailout call, because he only grazed Tate with one hand as Forcier began to gain the edge outside. They let those one hand flails go uncalled on other plays.

Did a nice job sniffing out the double screen, slicing through to hit the WR as he caught it, but bounced off after the hit. Fortunately for him, his teammates cleaned it up.

Final play on the drive he was blocked to a standstill on the sideline, giving up a big running lane for Cox around the left side for a 22 yd scamper. Floyd tried to dive and cover for him but was too late, and Gordon couldn't make the play in the last 5 yards, although both of those were desperation attempts.

He's the kind of scout team walkon you want on your squad, not one that should be one of the better tacklers on your defense.

Agree with almost everything you said Jwins. I don't know where all this optimism from our fanbase is coming from, but I am not happy with what I saw today. Looks like the same garbage that we trotted out last year, the only difference is we are more experienced.

Maybe a more experienced squad can manage to shake off some of the failure they're likely to encounter during the season and pull out some of those wins where last year they just gave up on themselves...

...all in all, that doesn't seem like a position anyone would want this team to be in in R-Rod's third year at the helm...

Jim Harbaugh can't get here soon enough to fix this shit up. Though.....it wouldn't surprise me if the ad fucks up the coaching search again. Harbaugh should be our number 1 option. He has the personality and tools to succeed here I believe. He did well at San Deigo and has done a decent job turning Stanford into a winner based on where Stanford was when he took over......a shit hole.....sound familiar.

Those DBs are seriously terrible. Is Vlad Emilien still hurt? He got utterly torched. Kovacs looks like the kind of guy whose only skill is moving down into the box to provide a speedbump for rbs.

Robinson has definitely improved his throwing, but a significant amount of what he did today was abuse his no-contact jersey. He was running right into 4-5 defenders knowing full well that they couldn't hit him - meaning they can't come at him full speed. It's easy to juke guys moving at half speed. Forcier looks like the exact same guy he was last year. In short, I think this team is pretty much the same team as last year, but without Brandon Graham.

Oh, and if you want a good laugh ask a Michigan fan if Will Campbell is a better DT than John Simon.

Right now he is not, but by the time Campbell leaves he will be no matter who our coach is.

Don't think we will have to worry about it if it gets to that point, Brandon knows what he is doing and he is a big fan of Harbaugh.

Based on what?

John Simon was a force inside as a true freshman (an incredibly rare feat for a DT) and has a lot of room to improve physically and technically.

Will Campbell is a very good athlete for his size who wasn't ready to contribute last year and is a decent DT this year.

Like I said Simon is better than Cambell right now, but Will imo has a higher ceiling than Simon. I think Will is going to be a big time player by the end of this year. This is in no way a knock on big John because obvioulsy he is very talented, but I think Campbell is going to be the better player when it's all said and done.
