2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

Yes, it looks that way. I believe those 4 TDs came with the full 1st string offense against the full 2nd string defense.

Well that's not quite as bad given that you've got the whole first team offense that is used to playing together. Obviously no one is expecting Michigan's D to be stellar

Given all the talk of Denard passing up Tate, you've got to wonder if Tate's days at UM are numbered. It seems the writing was already on the wall with Gardner in the fold (i.e., I doubt Tate will want to ride the bench during his junior and senior years), but it seems that he might be playing the backup role a year earlier than expected.

So I have been digging around the interwebs to see what the overall reaction to the Piss and Bruised Midget Circus they had on display this past weekend, and I have never seen such divergent reviews all from within the same fan base.

scUMer1:
The D looks like they are bigger, but still can't tackle, and the DBs look not better than last year. The O looks improved, but that was against the crappy D, so can't really say. We have two OK QBs and one true freshman that has a lot of potential, but looks lost. Overall I would say a slight improvement over last year, but they may still miss a bowl. RR might be in big trouble by the end of this year.
scUMmer2:
OMFG!!!! Denard had lightning shooting from his arse while he burned everyone on EVERYSINGLE PLAY!!!! His passing is so damn good now the rest of the Big Ten is shaking in their boots!! We are GONNA KILL MSU/ND/SUCKEYES by 15 TDs a piece they way these guys are playing right now!!! The D is F'n stacked!! Will Campbell is a BEAST and will get 1st team AA this year : ITS A LOCK!!!~! The Freep and the haters are piling on RR CAUSE THEY KNOW HE WILL DESTROY ALL COMPETITION!!!!!! GO BLUE!!!! GO BLUE!!!! YeaaarRRRGHHH!!!!
Anyway, the second type is the one that is giving me a ton of entertainment right now as I know they will be on suicide watch by the middle of the season.

They may suck right now, but at least UM fans can keep their head's up knowing the program is being ran in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations. :paranoid:

It is one thing to win by cheating, another to not win, but play by the rules.....but to break the rules AND suck...that never happens, does it?

:sneaky:

After watching the spring game here is how I see Michigan panning out this season:

September 4 Connecticut W

September 11 @ Notre Dame L

September 18 Massachusetts W

September 25 Bowling Green W

October 2 @ Indiana W

October 9 Michigan State L

October 16 Iowa L

October 30 @ Penn State L

November 6 Illinois W

November 13 @ Purdue W

November 20 Wisconsin L

November 27 @ Ohio State L

6-6, finally a bowl game. However, the last two losses are in embarrassing fashion, and RR will not be coaching the wolverpups in the bowl game.

Been lurking for a while before making my first post here, but I figured I'd chime in on this one.

I think 6-6 is awfully generous for tSUN. They've shown no real signs of improvement over last year, and for the most part the Big Ten doesn't seem to have changed much from top to bottom. So, including the losses you already mentioned, I'm going to go ahead and say that the 'rines lose to UConn and Illinois. 4-8 sounds about right to me.

My reasoning you may ask?

Plain and simple:

Michigan sucks.

Also, I think all it will take is an opening game loss to UConn for the season to start tanking to epic proportions.

I agree. I also think there is an excellent chance it happens. Overall when looking at the OOC it looks weak on paper but you have 2 Bowl teams and ND with a real coach. I won't be shocked at all if they start 0-2, beat Umass and then struggle against BGSU.

B10 play I'd say 3 wins is being generous. They were lucky as shit to win 1 last year. Illinois and IU seem to be the wins on paper but is scUM really that much better than those two schools right now?

I'll defer to the guys who pay closer attention to them but I think if they don't start 2-0 it gets ugly quick.

My question is if they lose to Uconn and ND do they fire RR mid season?

As hard as it is to imagine, ND will probably be much worse than UM this year. On the other hand, UConn could easily upset Michigan. I'm sticking with 6-6, but I'd swap those two games in your schedule.

I'll obviously be rooting for the meteor but I'll also probably have some money on Kelly with fat boys recruits in his first big home game.

I think Brian Kelly will have his boys ready...at least ready to score. He's proven that he can spread n shread with the best of them and I don't see Michigan's defense being much better than a top to middle of the pack MAC or Big East defense. Notre Dame accumulated a wealth of talent under Weis.

I expect it to be a good old fashioned Big East shoot out like both these coaches are familiar with.
