Can't wait to hear Brady Hoke named the new HC up there.
I don't think it's Hoke.
Lots of smoke out there that it's Harbaugh.
Schefter and Clayton of ESPN both said today that it's looking like Harbaugh to Michigan is all but a done deal.
Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network has been saying he's hearing Harbaugh is leaning to Michigan for the past week.
Michael Lombardi excused himself from the 49ers GM position publicly on the NFL Network, and Lombardi was probably the best chance the 49ers had of getting Harbaugh, as Lombardi is close to both Jim and John.
Also, Tom "Killer" Kowalski, the Lions beat writer said on his radio show today that according to his sources, that Harbaugh isn't nearly as hot of a commodity in NFL circles as the media (ESPN in particular) is making him out to be. He said that the 49ers may want Harbaugh, he doesn't know for sure, all he's saying is that Harbaugh isn't this super-hot commodity on every short list for coaching jobs in the NFL like ESPN would have you believe.
Also, the big bust up between Harbaugh and Lloyd Carr happened when Jim lobbied Bo to get the QB coach position that was vacated when Stan Parrish left. Jim wanted that job badly and Lloyd went with one of his guys, Scot Loeffler. Jim wanted to coach here really bad, and if you'll remember one of the things Mike Hart said in response to Jim's "comments" was that Harbaugh was mad because he wanted to coach at Michigan and he didn't get too...and Hart was right in saying that.
Another thing to consider...Dave Brandon was coached by a one Jack Harbaugh in his last two years at Michigan when he switched from QB to DE, and from what I've heard Brandon is friendly with Jack and has maintained a solid relationship with him over all of these years.
I really think it's Harbaugh.
