WTF was Maryland thinking firing that guy? Unless they can get Mike Leach, that was a retarded move.

I think Leach could do wonders for that program. He's a real offensive genius. Not Rich Rodriguez. Rich has no idea how to build a sophisticated passing game, he's a one trick pony.

Speaking of Rich Rodriguez, there are strong rumors out there that Rich might wind up at Maryland.

The Fridge is the ACC equivalent of Kirk Ferentz: good every other year. The problem is that Maryland can't do any better than he was doing; however, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement of his tenure.

Anyway, Brady Hoke is a name that I'm hearing a lot of people say. A lot of buzz on that name. Word is that Dave Brandon thinks the world of him; says he could sell a Hawaiian pizza to an orthodox jew who is allergic to pineapple.

So what will happen WHEN Denard gets hurt for a few series? They have been trying to get Devin Gardner a medical redshirt for the season

I assume that given the job uncertainty Rich Rod will have no problems in playing Gardner and burning a possible redshirt if the game is close

Who are you hearing Hoke's name from? Do you have sources or are you just speculating?

The vast majority of people that I talk to both off and on-line that do have Michigan ties seem to think that Hoke's name is a smoke-screen and that there is nothing real there.

I don't know if Brandon even knows Hoke personally. Hoke's ties to Michigan are not much. He was an assistant defensive line coach under Lloyd Carr for 4 or 5 years.

On the other hand, Brandon was coached by Jack Harbaugh and Jim Harbaugh has been pretty involved in a lot of alumni functions/gatherings/golfing tournaments/fund raising events in the past that Brandon has also been a part of.

I don't even know if Brandon even knows Hoke personally on any level. I know he knows Jack and Jim Harbaugh personally, and he knows them well.
