Because they don't pass as well as Indiana. Actually, they're quite competent passing the ball which is all you need to be against that horse abortion of a secondary. Also never mind that they have two running backs that dwarf what scUM has seen since uconn. scUM hasn't really had to deal with play action, imagine if they have that on top of their inability to cover anything with two legs. And they have a pulse on defense. Of course it is a rivalry, and it is still Sparty until proven otherwise, but that hasn't stopped them the past two years...and scUM's D is actually worse than the past two years. Denard looked a little gimpy after leaving the game as well, and he's one good hit from being folded in half.

For the first time all year, Denard looked plain tired in the second half. There wasn't the same burst in his runs and it showed.
I think Indiana just got beat on big plays. They doubled UM in first downs and murdered TOP.
IDK if it means UM relies on big plays, or if they were just easy to get against the Hoosier excuse for a defense.
