Fri AM TJBlog: What I expect ... or ...
...truncated...
3. I think that BGSU will move the ball some (sur-PRiSE, sur-PRISE, sur-priiiiise ... goooooll-ee) ... altho see #4.
4. What I will look for most in this game -- the play of the linebackers ... if they return to UConn/ND form, we'll all breathe a sign of relief (well not all will, just all non-haters .. the haters'll hate it if they play well)
SOOOO ... I like 37-20 ... also because it means U-M wiill have TWO safeties! (love that "37")

If you see potential landmines, and don't think U-M is going to steamroll Bowling Green you are a hater. I'll quote Obi Won Ken-Obi "only a Sith deals in absolutes". In other words, just because some of us don't run around and predict Michigan blowouts does not make us "haters".tomcj said:Gotta admit, I'm bewildered by all this 'hate' stuff.
Just don't get it.
I'm the biggest wolverine fan out there--from my days attending games as a kid in AA, to my years at UM, and now to the bar every weekend where I sit and hang on every play. But if I somehow express concern that the defense isn't very good, or isn't improving, or may prove the downfall of RR (who I LOVE as a coach) then I'm a 'hater'?!?
Somehow I'd be UNHAPPY if the linebackers played well, because it would feed my 'hate' for the team? Seriously?
I suppose there are 'haters' out there--people who want to see RR fail at all costs because he's not their idea of a "Michigan Man" or whatever. I guess there could even be a few of them who sneak onto these boards, pay their $10/month, and try to undermine the program at every chance. But, seriously, to imply that most or even a significant 'some' of the criticism/teeth gnashing/hand wringing you read in here (about the defense) is due to 'hatred' is a huge misguided leap IMO.
Haters are people like the white-haired gentleman who was washing his hands at the same sink I was after the ND win. When I noticed he had a Michigan hat on I said "Great win, wasn't it?" He replied "I'm not impressed and part of me really wanted the team to lose so we can finally get rid of this Rodriguez bum. This is not Michigan football." That my friends is a hater. I want Michigan to win no matter who the coach may be (even if it was Dantonio). That is not being a hater. I'll stick to my prediction of Michigan winning 35-27.

Now for the game. What I want to see: 24-3 at halftime. then if the second string is in and we give up 10-14 more points in the second half, who cares. However, if this game is close all game, and teh first string has to play all 4 quarters both sides of the ball, that is not a sign of a good team. BG is a middle of the road MAC team, who's starting QB isn't going to play. These are teh types of teams that good/great teams blow away early. For the record I predicted 45-13 on one of the other threads. Had us up 35-3 at halftime.

Jonas has played good/great, T Gordon, Kovacs when he is in th ebox, Roh when he stands up although I prefer him to be rushing the passer all have played well.
No haters here Tom just pepople with there eyes wide open.
Obi has not been good so far this year at the LB spot and he was not good last year.
I expect to see some other players given a shot at Obis spot this saturday.

Like I said, Dick has done wonders for their standards up there.Originally Posted by sblackwe

Yes, some Buckeyes have been known to do it.ShakerBuck;1780850; said:anyone notice how more and more NFL players from scUM on Sunday night football, state their high school as their alma mater instead of scUM...
Seems to be more and more common across the board, but I bet more than 50% of ex-scUM players are mentioning their high school teams. Last night David Harris repped Ottawa Hills, and I Believe Henne and Long Both Repped Michigan. Can almost guarantee Braylon would have repped his high school if he started.
Do any buckeyes do this?
Scott from Ann Arbor, Mich., writes: Love the blog but Best BigTen stadium: Ohio Stadium? And then you mention Camp Randall basicly as a number 2 choice. What about THE BIG HOUSE...are you kidding me? Your explanation was of the environment...but that was already a topic of "Game Day Atmosphere". I bet you all 113,090 fans on September 4th would be appalled by this choice!
Adam Rittenberg: Trust me, Scott, doing this blog for two plus years, I'm used to having tens of thousands of people mad at me. It was unquestionably a great atmosphere in the Bigger House on Sept. 4, but Michigan Stadium has a ways to go before matching Ohio Stadium in terms of the intimidation factor. In building my program, I want the most intimidating home venue possible. Right now, it's The Shoe, followed by Beaver Stadium and Camp Randall Stadium. Michigan is getting there, and the introduction of night football in 2011 will help the process.
