2010 TSUN arguments & shenanigans (in-season)

And, MGoBoard sticks its head in the sand.

In an effort to keep the moderators from pulling their hair out we've gone back to semi-lockdown, where you need 500 points to start a thread and 100 points to leave a comment. Things will return to normal Monday whenever I remember to change the settings back.
Yes, this is the same thing that happened after last year's incredibly depressing loss to a weak opponent on Halloween weekend. Here is a kitten:

And this jewel in a thread that discusses Hairlice leading the NCAA in rushing again.

This is potentially more important than wins and losses when it comes to RRs job. That and every bright spot is welcome

More important than winning football games? Really?

This picture, taken at the Columbus Zoo yesterday afternoon, seems appropriate here.

I'm sure he's just pining for the Lloyd.

What he fails to mention is that the offense seems incapable of playing four quarters. Three straight weeks they had mediocre first halves...then they're forced to attempt to mount furious comebacks. The defense sucks, everybody knows that, but the offense isn't free from blame.

They aren't free from blame but the defense is one of the worst I have ever seen from any team. Usually 31 points is enough to win a big ten game. They didn't turn the ball over against Penn St. That was a plus because they had 7 turnovers in the previous two games which they should get blamed for that. Michigan doesn't have a consistent running back which also a problem.

To put all the pressure on offense to score every time they touch the ball is really unfair. It's too much to ask.

Good thing they are only a LaMicahel James type of back away from averaging 60 [/Beaver]

Really?

that is an excuse Tom, there are too many of those going around. The coaching staff is in over its head here. Playing obi was a disaster and it took them 6 games to figure that out, continuously running v-smith when hopkins is better has caught up with RR and company. This staff hasnt learned anything from week to week over the past 2+ years. I refuse to accept your excuse for that. the coaches made a mistake. two weeks to prepare and spend extra time watching tape and they still didnt learn anything.

Where was the intesity on Defense? how can we have two weeks to game plan and we get blown up by a walk on. That three man front was pretty successfull eh. who is responsible for that?

Stop with the excuses

Oh snap.

Re: Sun TJBlog: After going over it in my achy-head all night

Love how everyone thinks everything is gonna be alright, it is truly laughable, lets all keep waiting till next year like Norte Dame did with big Charlie.

Can't believe we are all hoping for MICHIGAN to beat Purdue and Illinois. Did I miss something because those were gimme games every year. This board is ridiculous. Then you say you are going to delete comments of paying customers. JUST RIDICULOUS. The truth has played out for 2 and half years now, it has been a failure like we have never seen.Bring in Jim and get back to MICHIGAN football.

It is simple poor coaching my friend. You should not ask Tom he will just defend him.

Sorry, I call them like I see them.. (you must be blind). Were you tuned into a different game than I was last night? Sugar-coating the obvious accomplishes nothing.

Re: ksoss2

Tom, do you honestly think that DR was feeling more pressure than a kid starting his first game at QB? Turnovers , there weren't any last night and we still lost to a below average team.

Re: **adding to the additional point I made**

Can you please tell me the last time we had eight possessions in a half. Spin again. We were down 28-10 at the half and that was with no turnovers. We weren't playing Iowa or MSU. How did you like our first possession of the game? The defense had nothing to do with that. Come on Tom, you're killing me.

Develop a runningback, play hopkins, shaw, cox, jones. See what one of them can do instead of letting your qb take a beating

The defense is terrible we all get that, but the offense is not much better. 500 yards a game is great, but turn it into points or shut up about it. 22.5 points against teams that aren't a complete joke. That is simply not getting it done.
I totally agree...I am little tired of everyone telling me how "great" the offense is. For 3 years all I have heard is "the plays were there and we missed them", such in such quarterback is "banged up" (this will apparently always be with this offense), all the offense isn't installed yet, etc. What has this offense done against a good Big Ten foe? I don't care how many yards a team puts up....scoring is the final measure. And, I am also skeptical about an offense being called "great" when all there yards are in catch-up mode. Maybe it is just me but I am waiting to be impressed by RR and Co's play calling....it just doesn't seem real creative to me.

Now, with the defense......I am of the belief that RR wasn't left with squat and is playing with either experienced but not talented players or just plain old inexperienced (don't know about talent yet). It does, however, scare me that not one freshman, with all the ones that are playing, have shown star potential.

Special teams.....should be a plus by year three.....period! This is not the case and I don't see it getting any better than just mediocre under RR (IMO).

I am afraid that switching DC's in the middle of the year is not a good idea. I'd rather see RR go to GR and demand that he gets more aggressive......let the DB's man up with the other team (there is usually a 10 yards cushion between the WR's and DB's). What happened to all the aggressive play promised 3 years ago?

Will Denard ever be a good pocket passer? He seldom steps into the pocket....he breaks down and tends to go back under pressure, which never works.
Looks like the beav's following is beginning to turn on him...
